i-130 Visa interview Date????

How will the embassy notify me if I have been scheduled an interview date? My husband is almost done with the paperwork he has to send to NVC. I had asked my husband to file a change in address form for me in case they send us an interview date via mail. Will that affect the time we have to wait for an interview? Will they be notifying us in some other way?

Depending upon the communication preferences you've established they may send an email. They will definitely send notice by post to your husband. He will need to take this letter (he will receive a thorough checklist) to his interview.

I recommend you confirm the date of the interview about two weeks prior to the scheduled date. The embassy is supposed to notify you of a change, but in our experience they didn't do so (I had to inquire multiple times before the consulate in Saigon told me my wife's interview was rescheduled six days early, requiring me to change my flight plans etc). Every consulate has it's own procedures and some seem better run than others, but in any event I recommend you assume if it can go wrong it will and make sure you've confirmed everything.

Good luck!

it took you over a month after the interview to get the passport back? why so long? i am hoping for a week max...hoping

After my interview my case was put on AP with NO additional docs asked. The consul said that my papers were all good.

We were speculating that the Embassy needs time to contemplate the relationship since at the USCIS stage we can not furnished a copy of Death Certificate of my husband's late wife that happened 32 yrs ago in a plane crash in Saudi.

I'm sure your case is different and your visa will arrive sooner.

All the best!

I think in the Philippines, it may be hard to receive communication by mail from the embassy. If i don't show up at the interview without the list they sent me will that be bad? I'm really worried about not getting mail from them.

Like the other post, have the email communication part turned on when it was at the USCIS stage. I got all my communication via email. The embassy when i emailed the inquiry@ address did not get a response. i was able to call them though
