STILL No Instruction package, no appointment package K1

I tried doing that, using the print out for my fiancee. But the hospital did not accept it. the NIV appointment is for NIV, and for our case, the K1 is considered an IV, i guess. If this were ok, i'm pretty sure everyone in the same boat as we are, would've done so already. The appointment package is the key and we are useless without it.

There is a new online service for appointment for k1 visa that will launch Feb 22nd 2014. I'm not sure what this entails but maybe this will allow us to setup our interview without waiting for package 4 just as long as our status is set to Ready by the consulate. Also the website states that this will allow us to do the medical sooner as well. Lets wait on Feb 22nd and found out together.

I'm hoping the new system will allow us to schedule our interviews rather than waiting for package 4. We never received package 3 via mail even though it was sent months ago. We were still able to submit documents and are waiting for the interview.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE WAITING! smile.png

Thank you so much for the response. There isn't an option to select USA or America at the start of the registration.

The site must be overwhelmed and not working properly.... They let you select various other countries but not USA.....

Why would you pick united states???? Is your finance in the united states? I would assume no and that your finance is in Vietnam. Pick asia then pick Vietnam my friend.

Also, your finance needs to perform package #3 1st before you start the above process.

perhaps im doing it incorrectly, but if you click the link that you provided to create a new account, it requires you to select a country. Vietnam isn't a selection among the list of countries. Please correct me if i am wrong. And yes I have completed the D160 from the instruciton package.

Thanks!!!!

=)

The website updated more. We are still at the mercy of the embassy until they give us the okay.

http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/faqs-on-new-visa-services.html

14. Question: I am applying for an immigrant visa. How do I make an appointment for an immigrant visa within the new system? How do I pay my visa application fee?

Answer: Most immigrant visa applications will continue to be handled either by the National Visa Center or by the U.S. Consulate and will not be affected by the new system. The visa application fee will be paid either through the National Visa Center or at the U.S. Consulate.

However, K1 (fiancé) visa applicants will now be required to schedule their appointments and pay the visa application fee per the instructions on www.ustraveldocs.com/vn. K1 (fiancé) applicants should not schedule their appointment until after they have received an Instruction Package from the Consulate.

Yes I did mention you need to get package #3 first and submit it before you start the new process. Be thankful for this new system. Other members has been waiting over 3 months for package #4. This new process allows us to skip those 3 months and setup the interview date.

This new process / system is going to help a lot of people (you and me).

Actually for my situation I don't use the new system.

"Thank you for your inquiry.

Please be informed that the new system will not affect the scheduling of your interview appointment. Your case is still being scheduled for a visa interview. Our office will schedule an appointment at the earliest opportunity. "

Just make sure you email the embassy you don't fall in bay category also or all the work you done is a complete waste of time.

all,

Please make sure to print out and bring your DS160 form to HSBC bank. They will ask for it before they will accept payment. So you will need the DS160 print out and also the payment slip.

I was able to send the DS160 to my wife via email and she show it to them on request which they accepted.
