People are not born equally healthy, it's a simple fact. Making money out of the fact that some people get sick and others have accidents is a desperately illogical thing to do if you place a value on being human. As a result you get people justifying the unjustifiable with trash like this.

The interesting thing is all the high minded do-good notions like yours are just that, empty feel-good opinions.

Meawhile others are actually seeing a need and providing for it often at a profit.

And when it comes to actual charity.... did you need me to post the facts concerning who actually gives to those in need?

Who actually builds homes for the poor, starts food pantries, volunteers at orphanages and schools?

If you need that I will repost it.

This is all in your head Danno. Nothing about what you posted is interesting or verifiable. The point is that health care should not be for profit and the system should be simple and easy to access for everyone. You however seem to think that those born with chronic diseases should have to rely on charitable hand outs to relieve their suffering. That's idiotic.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

In your city, there are hospitals that help the needs of the poor,

I'd bet anything you have never given so much as ten dollars.

You like most of these people (such as in the video) are sooo generous with giving away other peoples money yet not your own.

They are upset becuase they are paying, period. Until Obamacare they had a free ride and had the prerogative to seek treatment in ERs and leave their bills for the rest of us to pay.

No, actually, they all had more affordable insurance with lower co-pays and lower deductibles.

Watch the video.

I'm not repeating a lie, I have never heard of any alternatives. Do you mind sharing with me any proposed legislation? Did any of them make it to committee? Were any voted on? I'm just asking, you may be 100% correct - but like I said I personally have not heard of anything. You said countless so please share.......

also it doesn't matter what falls on the Presidents ears, I mean that is not how our country works. Any new laws need to come through Congress, the President has no power in this regards. Civics 101 my friend

Love how people always want to scapegoat Obama - blame your local congressmen first if there is something you don't like wink.png

Actually, in this case, your civics lesson is faulty. Obama has mastered the skill of getting what he wants by ignoring what we all learned in school. How can you forget how this despised law was passed - by Obama and his henchmen twisting people's arms, bribing legislators with pork (see the "Louisiana Purchase"), circumventing the normal rules by "deeming" the bill passed, blackmailing insurance companies, I could go on and on. None of this would have happened if the President did not use his bully pulpit -- so he is not the scapegoat -- he is to blame, along with all the spineless legislators that went along with the scheme.

In fact, the company where I work did not switch providers. Last year I received $40 back from them and this year their premium went down about $10 a month. I am sure I am not the only one for there are hundreds of employees in the company where I work.

Here's what Obamacare looks like to me, from the outside.

My Mother-in-law (who, just for the record, is a USC, makes good money, and gets no subsidy for the healthcare she has through her husband's business) has been having health problems. The doctors she was able to see under her current healthcare plan would not agree to treat her appropriately to her situation and family history.

Before Obamacare, she would have had to just live with it, because no other provider would have insured her at all, now that she has a documented "pre-existing condition."

Now, because of Obamacare, she was able to find a specialist, find out what healthcare companies would cover his services, and change her healthcare to that company. She's still paying full price. That's not the issue here. The issue is that she was able to see the best doctor available, and wasn't held hostage by her healthcare provider.

I'm from Canada, where we may wait a long time for a specialist appointment, but whatever doctor/hospital/care provider we need is always available to us. The idea of being denied health care coverage because you're older, low income, or have a "pre-existing condition" is just crazy to me. The idea that a major illness or accident can easily bankrupt a family seems like a crime to me.

Obamacare seems like a step towards sanity.

It's good to hear a success story rather than all of the doom and gloom the ACA naysayers try to push here all of the time. I'm glad your Mother in law was able to get the care she needs.

My wife is also Canadian and she cannot believe the joke of a healthcare system we have here in the US. Even with the ACA it's still not near as good as a single payer system like Canada has.

Great post.... But now you'll be labeled as a socialist sympathizer.
