I just sent off the supporting documents to DS260... so just waiting at the moment smile.png. This stage moved so fast compared to USCIS... it's a blessing. You can add me to the sheet if you want, all info in my sig.

I will start calling next week, as now that everything is in I just need to hear case complete, right? smile.png

First off, I like your positive attitude good.gif It's refreshing :)

And added to the spreadsheet!

Yes, next thing you should hear (hopefully) is case complete yes.gif

Where is your wife living right now? She needs a police certificate for the countries where she lived for more than one year (double check at the DOS or consulate website), for the past five years ( double check at the DOS or consulate website). I think what the last bullet is saying is the, in case she's a non-Indian, who lived in India but currently doesn't, they do not issue a Police certificate for her. That's how I'm interpreting this. But still, she needs police certificates from where she lived (except the US)

I'm sorry, I gave out wrong information. Police reports are for places where the person lived for at least 6 months in their own country, at least 1 year if it was in another country, or at least 6months if currently in another country. The past five year thing is probably particular to Brazil, because we only keep records for 5 years (go figure). For other countries, you need to check.

For Brazil, read page 5 of this pdf: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/brazil/571285/iv/NEW%20Instr%20Aplic%20IV-Ing.pdf

Sorry :(

As another member said, yes, it'll have wording like that. But, as they also said, there's a preparer question. NVC understands that not all beneficiaries can fill the online forms out for themselves (either due to a language barrier or due to low/no internet connection [or even both!]), so like I said, it's fine to fill it out on their behalf.

Not sure what is quoted here and what is not, but many thanks Saylin for your answer to an earlier question about who signs DS 260. Thanks!!

I do not know who edits the sample forms on this site, but this sample form for the I-864 has incorrect information: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf.

For question 2.a through 2.h, it states the address of the sponsor instead of the principal immigrant (all other information I have found says that it is the address of the principal immigrant).

In question 5, it also leave the impression that the principal immigrant already has an A-number (that may be the case only very occasionally).

The most consistent response is 20 business days after the "receive" date, if you're talking about getting a case number.

NOA2s usually take 5 months or more. NVC case numbers take about 20 business days so it's really not like dealing with the USCIS. I just hope that it won't get to be THAT bad in the coming months.

Hi all, do we still send out the choice of agent email out to the NVC once you receive the email?

The DS-3032 email has been replaced by the online DS-261.
