Checking in with a great news! We finally got our case number, IIN & BIN !dancin5hr.gif It took 22 days to get it.

But it doesn't end there, we'll be calling back to give our email addressessecret7vf.gif , and we have to wait for another 20 days again for them to accept these email addresses (?)..(the operator said)

Nah, it's a big question mark! But anyway, we'll try to call again tomorrow.luv.gifClockWatch2.gif

Congrats!!!dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif we got ours too. but hubby forgot to ask the Invoice Identification number dead.gif .. and the beneficiary ID. the operator just told my husband to wait for their instruction.

I am planning to take 2 weeks vacation with my family however my boss is giving me a hard time in approving my leaves. I feel like quitting the job now. I remember in one of the forms when we submitted our petition we had to give information about the current employment details which i did.

So would it be a problem if i quit the job in the process? Also does form DS260 has questions on my current job? Sorry not able to view the DS-260 screenshots which you have posted.

hi everyone!!!! just an update on my husband's case..... since the approval (sept. 30,2013) and after waiting for 4 months NVC finally received the petition..... nvc finally received it on feb 4. please advice me what to do after nvc receiving the petition?

That's good news! A lot of things are going to start to happen. The next one is you'll get your case number and IIN number assigned. That usually takes 20 business days. So you have a good chunk of time now to get familiar with this process and to get documents you'll need. You may start by reading posts 1 and 2 of this thread.

Here's an overview of the process, from post 2:

- get case number and IIN, give email addresses over

- complete the online DS-261

- pay the AOS bill, once it's invoiced

- once the bill appears as PAID, send the AOS package

- pay the IV bill, once it's invoiced

- once the bill appears as PAID, send the IV package

- complete the online DS-260

- respond to any checklists, if applicable

- get case complete

- get interview date scheduled

- case is sent to embassy/consulate

Worst case if they lose the medical, you'll need to get a new one done. You definitely won't have to re-file a new I-130, no. So, at the most, it'd be a delay of a few weeks (depending how fast the embassy processes mail and then issues the visa). In your case, make sure you keep the receipt after the medical and bring it to the interview as the other member did.

Unfortunately, I don't know the medical procedure for London. In Canada, first of all, you can only get the medical done with an interview letter. And second, they give you the results in a sealed envelope; the panel physician doesn't mail it to Montreal.

Hey Saylin.

I have decided that I am going to reschedule my medical as it is not advisable to have it until London have received your case. Otherwise they cannot be matched with my case.

I know you said it will be fine to change my date even though I said it was going to be the 20th Feb on my DS260 when explaining "no" to the vaccination question, but do you think it would cause a problem at the interview? What if the officer interviewing me sees that I suggested that my medical was on the 21st Feb on the DS260 but notices I actually had it at a later date? Could he think I was being deceitful (even though I'm not)

I know I am probably worrying over nothing and he/she couldn’t care less what date it was as long as its done, but I cant help but worry! :-(

Thanks for your continued help

Finally got our NVC case number but was told there was no IIN available. Does this sound reasonable? Not much can be done with just a case number. Thanks

GM VJ Fam just an update. It took me a few days to feel up to writing this and I'm still sad. My husband went for his interview in Kingston on Feb 7th. His appointment was at 9:30 am and he didn't leave til around 2 pm. Here's the kicker..... He was rescheduled for March 14th because they said he didn't have his DS-230 form. Notice the form they requested wasn't the DS-260. The craziest part is...We already submitted all paperwork, evidence, and paid the bills online. Plus, I emailed the Kingston Embassy the DS-230 back in January for them to give my husband a interview date. My husband also had copies of all the paperwork and evidence submitted including the DS-260 that was submitted online. SMH.. I emailed the Embassy and their response was that they are not used to expedited cases where the paperwork is submitted online maybe the officer didn't check. What!? What type of response is that? My husband was rescheduled for a whole month later because of

someone else's mistake. How fair is that..... SMH.

When I applied for my husband I put his given name as the last name. His name is Mohammad Shumon, although in Bangladesh a lot of people do not really have "family" names or surnames. All my husband's relatives have different last names. I just put Mohammad as first name and given name as last or surname and added a note that in Bangladesh they do not really follow this system of surnames. I also added that my father-in-law and my husband's brothers have Mohammad in their name for similar purposes as a "family" name.

Hope this helped!

thank you so much for your help i just fill it up same as you said and i got his new passport with surname and given name
