What do you mean when you say they require the barcode sheet? In order to get a PCC you need to visit your regional passport seva Kendra. They are the ones who will issue the PCC. They don't require the barcode sheet. They need a copy of your passport and other form of id which can be DL or voter Id. Hope that helps.

Ok another question..sorry. On part 6 of the AOS, the instructions state to put your annual individual income from part 5 on 6c. Later in that paragraph, it says if you meet the poverty guidelines, you don't include any household members income, so do I still put my annual income on line 6c and then write my own name as person 1 even though I meet the poverty guideline and don't intend to use any other household member's income? Its like it is contradictory.

stupid USCIS -This shouldn't be this darn complex :s

That part of the instructions is unfortunately wrong. Questions 6-9 is about other people. Then 10 is the combination of incomes from 5-9 (5 being you). It doesn't make any sense to put yourself again in 6.

Saylin one thing on our checklist was please submit court and prison records. Well my husband has 7 different minor things on his police record that we submitted. The oldest case was in 1982 and the most recent was in 1997. Now he lives in Pickering now. And one of these cases was in Niagara Fall one was in Brampton one in Orangeville. Does he have to run all over Canada to get these court documents?? Or does he just have to go to RCMP to get his fingerprinting done?? And do you know how many sets of fingerprints? He went to do the fingerprinting and they said it could take up to 90 Days:(((

For the PCC, a fingerprint one will be needed since he's got a record. How long that takes I don't know. I have no experience with it. And also because he has a record, court/prison records are needed. And looking at the Canadian-specific page (http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/CA.html#docs), looks like he's going to have to go to each court to obtain them :/

Miss Saylin:

Could you add me to the spreadsheet, please? Thanks.

Added!

Today I've found this "ELIS" thing.

http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis

Could someone explain it to me please?

Thank you,

Lukiduki

ELIS is used after a successful interview to pay the $165 immigrant visa fee. You will NOT get the green card until this fee has been paid. Although you can wait and pay it after POE, it's recommended to pay it before immigrating so there are no delays.

I just made my very first call to NVC to check if they received our case and I spoke to the most kind gentleman. What a pleasant person! Not just for US bureaucracy standard but any customer service in general.

Anyway, turns out our case was already checked in the building on Feb.6th, barely a week after I received notice from TSC.

I did find it odd though that this rep told me to count specifically "4 weeks and 3 days" from Feb. 6th to get a case# huh.png . He apologized that he didn't have better news for me tonight but all this weather is causing delays.

As nice as he was, I will still venture to make my next call a little sooner than 4 weeks and 3 days. Just in case.

Yes, as soon as you receive the visa package from the consulate after a successful interview, you can pay the fee online at ELIS.

30 day green card? The green card you'll receive after POE is good for 2 years (if you've been married under 2 years, otherwise it's a 10 year green card).

Yes, once you pass through POE, you can turn right around and return to Canada if you wish. The stamp and visa in your passport will act as a temporary green card for up to one year. The green card will be sent to the address from the DS-260. I would NOT suggest mailing the green card from the US to Canada. I actually think it's not legal IIRC :/ Like I said though, as long as you have your passport with the visa and stamp, you won't need a green card to return to the US as what you have is a (temporary) green card.

Hi, I just called the NVC and asked about this, First of all he said for part 6 #5 to put 0 unless you have a job lined up already in the U.S. He said this question is reflecting the upcoming year. Regarding Part 6 # 13a, 13b, and 13c you should put the exact number written on line 22 of the tax return. So if it's 0 than put it. He said that it doesn't matter if it's 0 as long as you have a Joint Sponsor. Good luck!!

Thanks for sharig the answer!!!

Yeah, we are gonna put 0 there. I was so unsure when I just found it out considering this is AOS. We do have a joint sponsor. Thanks! And God bless your journey too! :)

My parents are joint sponsoring my husband since we both live in Australia and I have a question about the i-864a. Do we still fill that out even though I'm not listed as a dependant on their taxes?

You're not filling out an I-864A. This is what you should be filing:

Petitioner: I-864

Main joint sponsor: I-864

Joint sponsor's spouse: I-864A
