NYC.RSA- How do you know that your checklist response was received and that it is in the system? Did you call or is there another way of checking?

yes i was in this side because i did mistake on the affidavit of support and i mailed after that another AOS package...one got scanned in the system on January 30 and the other one on January 31 and i am waiting to hear from both of them good luck

Did you sent the complete AOS package or just what was missing? And did you use a separate cover letter to briefly explain why you were sending it again?

Fellow NVC fillers,

My husband (petitioner) received an email from Embassy in Tokyo, saying

"NVC is transferring immigrant visa file to U.S. Embassy Tokyo"

"In the meantime, you may prepare the medical documents for your immigrant visa processing."

"Also, the Immigrant Visa (IV) Electronic Application (DS-260) is now available for you to complete."

Our case# and IIN were just assigned yesterday, and we haven't even filed DS261 yet.

It doesn't sound bad, but I am confused because I thought "case complete" will happen before transferring to embassy...

Is it the standard email we are supposed to get after they assign case#?

Who with my date has not received case number yet????? NVC received case on 1/13/14, today is 20 business day and I have yet to get a case number... They are providing excuses such as we have received several applications and it's taking longer than usual to input them into the system.. UGHHHHHHH!!!!!! I have had it.. How much longer are we supposed to wait

I know that Saylin says that the U.S. citizen can fill DS-261 and and DS-260 in the States. But .... I am nervous about one issue: I looked at the old DS-3032 and DS 230 and I see that there are places where the Applicant (the beneficiary) has to sign. If I fill this these forms online in the U.S. for my wife (who is in Pakistan), will I get to a point that says something like: "By submitting this form you are attaching an electronic signature" (or some similar wording).

Does anyone know if I actually get to a point like this in the online versions of the form? If this is the case, would I not be forging my wife's signature electronically if I fill out DS 261 and DS-260?

Maybe I am being too nervous about this, but I would appreciate knowing how you all dealt with this issue.

I filled out the ds261 for my husband who is in Bulgaria. At the end of the form it does ask for an electronic signature. But then it asks if anyone helped you prepare the form. You say yes. Then it asks you who and what is your relationship to them. That's where you wil put your name and that you are their spouse. Mine went through just fine.

Affidavit of Support requirement for this case is incomplete. Please
submit the requested Affidavit of Support form(s) and/or financial
evidence, as indicated on the checklist. The requested information must
be submitted to the NVC for this file to continue processing.

so what i need to include when sending the required document back 2 NVC. How much time they will take 2 complete my case when i send the AOS document. Thanks i advance.how much time it will take for medical & interview if my case gets completed by the end of this month.Mine embassy is New Delhi INDIA. I m bit worried abt VB retrogression as Mexcio has gone back 2 2012.God bless u all

i sent the entire AOS package from affidavit of support and tax returns and so on the same as the package i mailed that i had a mistake on the affidavit of support beside a note i wrote on there explaning why i sent this package again since i did a mistake on the Affidavit of support in the previous AOS package so i cant wait to hear back from the NVC about a checklist so they can have it in line for them to review and not wait another 30 business days to hear back from them again i want to earn time not waste it good luck

You don't "physically " sign it. When you submit the form it's just implied that your signing it. And by stating that someone "helped" you prepare it I think they understand that someone else did it for you. But considering that you are their spouse, it's ok. Or if you were the lawyer it would also be ok. I was also worried about this and also the ds260. My husband can speak English ok but he's terrible at writing. And as you know, there is no room for mistakes here. That's probably why they are using this system now. It's just easier. Good luck! hope this helped.

Yep..Same here! And tomorrow, they'll be closed tomorrow due to the storm and Monday is a holiday (Presidents day).

We did, but I failed to realize I had filed a 1040 and not the 1040ez, so I need to use total income as I had originally thought and not adjusted gross income. Too much double-checking, I need to chill out!

we both are on the same boat, i sent my AOS few days back and made the same mistake

i used adjusted gross but my accountant filles 1040 in 2011, and 1040ez on other years
