Our lawyer said that we just need to send NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) clearance and no need for local police clearance, is this correct? From what I have been reading there is a need for police clearance or we need to send both NBI and local police clearance?

I sent both my Police clearance and NBI clearance but i guess our lawyer did not sent my NBI clearance to NVC because we got a checklist for a missing NBI clearance....argggggg.......wait wait wait again....

Just received the invoice for IV! Question though: they have my address listed wrong (mine, not my husbands who is the beneficiary). Which is weird because it was right before...lol. Are they going to mail anything to me or is it all electronic? (I moved 1 street number + an apt number, so they often change the apt but not the street number...)

As long as you gave over both email addresses to an operator, then everything will be sent by email.

Saylin,

I am petitioning my 2 kids ages 15 and 13. I am still waiting for case number/s. But is it okay that I just create an email for my both kids and give that to the NVC operator when I get the case #?

Thanks

Yup, that's fine! Actually a good idea ;)

I called NVC and they told me I could send the I-864 again, and to send all the supporting evidence as well to be on the safe side.

Anyone else have this experience?

No need to submit the supporting evidence if the only thing wrong is the form. But, you may want to hold off on sending it and just wait until they review it. You may get lucky and the reviewing officer might not notice (it does happen sometimes). Plus, there may be more wrong with the form than just that one question.

(edited for bad info)

My most recent tax transcript from 2012 is a lot more complicated. My stepdad's accountant did it for me and it looks like my "total income" is actually NEGATIVE (because of a loss in the stock market and I suppose my foreign income goes to $0).

I guess I'd just say put whatever your tax transcript says. Does this seem right?

If a 1040 was filed and the total income is negative, that's what you'll have to put. It may seem weird and/or wrong, but that's how it is.

Nobby7, I thought we communicated this on Friday night... but all is well... looks like you caught it in time... Spoke to NVC today and they received DS-261 and also confirmed receiving AOS package which they received today, even though I received confirmation yesterday through tracking... all is well.... good luck to all.

Please add me to the list

01/06/2014 – NVC Received

01/30/2014 – Received NVC Case numbers

01/30/2014 – NVC Case number

02/07/2014 – DS-261 sent

02/07/201 – AOS Paid (Affidavit of Support)

02/08/2014 – I-864 –Affidavit Support (AOS) Package Sent

02/11/2014 – DS-261 accepted

Do you mean you want to be added to my spreadsheet? If so, you've been added.

Hello,

I have a question regarding DS 261, I just notice when reviewing form I submitted . It asks for Principal Applicants information:

Surnames and Given Names listed in passport... When filling this form out I used my wife's new Surname, she is adopting my last name during the this process. Do you think this will be a problem? all our letter coming from USCIS and NVC have her new lastname on them.. can someone advice?

You don't need a printer for the DS-261, it's an online form, there is absolutely nothing to print out.

I read somewhere that I can print out although I don't have to.

There is a "print" button on the online form anyway.

Maybe I'm just over reacting ....

but I thought I would feel comfortable having printed page just in case :)

Thank you for your advice.

I know that Saylin says that the U.S. citizen can fill DS-261 and and DS-260 in the States. But .... I am nervous about one issue: I looked at the old DS-3032 and DS 230 and I see that there are places where the Applicant (the beneficiary) has to sign. If I fill this these forms online in the U.S. for my wife (who is in Pakistan), will I get to a point that says something like: "By submitting this form you are attaching an electronic signature" (or some similar wording).

Does anyone know if I actually get to a point like this in the online versions of the form? If this is the case, would I not be forging my wife's signature electronically if I fill out DS 261 and DS-260?

Maybe I am being too nervous about this, but I would appreciate knowing how you all dealt with this issue.

Many thanks -- and many thanks to you too Saylin!!

Yes you can wait and pay them at the same time if your not ready the send your AOS package yet. I'm not too sure about the ds 260. I think it may only becaome available after you pay your IV fee. Check out some peoples timelines and look at the order things go in. Glad we are all finally moving along!dancin5hr.gif

Hi all, two questions:

I know it says above that petitioner and beneficiary receive case number but can someone else confirm? Where my stepson lives, it could be weeks before he receives anything by snail mail.

Also, for copies of tax returns, do they want state and all schedules or just 1040?

Thank you!

One other thing! Does anyone know the required passport photo size in centimeters (for brazil)?
