Thanks the issue is not with the name but the salutation used. Hopefully its not a big deal.

I don't think you'll have problem, even if the salutation would matter. "Ms" can be used for women when they are or are not married. Miss=clearly unmarried. "Mrs"=clearly married.

Side note: If I remember correctly, Ms was a way found by the early feminists/ gender equality promoters to avoid indicating whether or not they were married, the same way you can't tell if Mr is a married or unmarried man and given that in some contexts, such as your professional life, being married or not shouldn't matter. It's kinda hard for us to imagine this relevance nowadays, but think "Mad Men"!

Congratulations. Come on over. You are the first for February (well the only one that's reporting it).

Yes, you should still be able to give over both email addresses, then everyone should receive the email (as far as I know).

Nope, not necessary! Congrats by the way dancin5hr.gif

Thank you! And thank you for the last answer you gave me too! (About the unfounded hypothesis about whether the medical yes/ no be connected to interview date)! I want you to know I'm always appreciative of your answers and just refrain from saying so to avoid an flood on your inbox! Eventually I'll do a bulk thank you as this :)

We used the numbers from the tax transcript as that's actual proof the tax return was sent in and specifically that the IRS accepted the return, making any adjustments as necessary. And, as far as I know, NVC wants EXACT amounts, right down to the penny, and no rounding up.

So, my two questions for you:

-did you round up?

-did you send in the tax returns or tax transcripts?

I passed on your questions to wifey as shes not on here and was the one who done AOS.

She said.

" I used tax returns. No, I didn't round up, tax returns auto round up. I-864 allowed me to put exact income amount using decimal to separate dollars from cents to put exact amount shown on W2"

Hopefully you can make more sense of that than me, Saylin haha

Okay, so she didn't round up. That's good. But she got the number from her W2s? You're supposed to use the amount (total income or adjusted gross income, depending on which tax form was filed) from the tax return or tax transcript.

My point in asking was if she didn't round up but used tax returns (instead of the preferred tax transcripts), then the reviewing officer might see a discrepancy and issue a checklist. But, if the wrong line was used in the first place, then that might be reason for a checklist as well (unless you get lucky and those two amounts end up being the same).

Yes, some people send the packages as soon as they pay the bills and print out the document cover sheet. By the time it gets to NVC, the bill typically shows as PAID, so no delays. The only thing you have to keep in mind with this though is that, if for some reason the payment doesn't go through (due to not putting in the correct numbers or whatever other reason), then NVC will likely receive your package before the payment clears, which may then cause delays. This is why I suggest if you're not going to wait until it ultimately shows as PAID on the payment portal, at least wait until the money clears your account, as that's a good sign there's no issues. But, it's obviously up to you. This is just my advice.

Yeah, it seems that every year, the poverty line goes up by just a few hundred dollars. Which shouldn't be a problem as it's better if you're way over the poverty line anyways. If one is that close, then a joint sponsor should be considered.

Right so I passed on this post to my wife and she thinks we are ok because, (This is what she said) 'I used actual gross income and not adjusted income as I fill out a 1040 (not 1040a or 1040ez). So in summary, I did use the correct line item based on the 1040 return I submitted'.

Does that sound right? She's getting annoyed with me scrutinizing it now so I think I'm going to have to have faith and hope its ok!
