Canadians can do EP so we only need to email everything in, no need to mail... in fact it can slow down your process if you do. Everything will be done via online forms and emailing in once you've sent the enroll email. A lot of other countries can't do EP, so you'll see a lot of people talking about mailing in their packets.

I've never had anyone be anything but nice to me at NVC. They've been courteous, answered my questions...they were nice people. One guy helped me with a question about my I-864 that even my accountant

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the address provided.

Just called NVC and they couldn't provide me with any info, because their computer systems are down. Just for those of you who like to call late. smile.png I was also on hold for about 30 minutes, which is way longer than I've ever waited in the middle of the day.

our ds261 became available 5working days after i got our case#'s, as for the email, i havent receive any yet but i'll fill out the ds261 anyway.

iam the beneficiary.

I am thrilled to now be an official participant in this thread! Got our NOA2 this evening, and I'm not sure I'll sleep much tonight:)

I've kept informed on this thread for months, and am so thankful for all those knowledgeable people who continue to assist folks like myself on this challenging journey.

Beneficiary - Applying for CR1/IR1 (but also played the K3 card prior to understanding it may be phased out.)

2013: July 20: I-130 sent (Chicago lockbox)

July 24: I-130 NOA1

July 24: I-129F sent (Dallas Lockbox)

Aug 2: I-129F NOA1

Aug 12: Alien Registration Number was changed, I-129F.

2014: Jan 28/29/30: - 3 transfer notices for I-130 and I-129F.

Feb 3 - Hard copy arrived -Notice of transfer to Texas stating Jan 29th.

Feb 10 - NOA2

Feb 27 - email stating I-130 being sent to NVC from TSC.

March 6 -NVC received our case.

April 7 - CASE NUMBER yay! IIN and BIN obtained and email given.

April 9 - DS261 available and filled in online.

April 9 - AOS not yet payable but visible.

April 10 - email regarding NVC case number and access to DS261 received/ email regarding AOS received and paid.

May 10 - My most awaited date! My flight to San Diego CA.

 

May 23 - applied for SSN. June 2 - received my SSN Jun 9 - got a job. July 21 - received my green card (wrong expiration date and combined first and middle name, filed for I-90-correction) Aug 08 - applied for a state ID Sep 05 - biometrics appointment  Oct 09 - received my state ID Nov 03 - post decision activity (I-90 application) Nov 07 - card/document production (need to wait for 30 days for my new green card) Nov 10 - received the new green card (2 months & 5 days)

Regarding the FAQ in post #2, I was attempting to review the timeframe after case complete to interview for Canada, and when I use the link provided I am unable to determine when the case complete stage happened... it only lists NOA2. Or am I failing to see a time column somehow?

Case shipped from NSC: Jan 29, 2013

Case arrived at NVC: Feb 11, 2013

I'm now waiting for the case to be input. I assume that I can't hand over my email addresses yet even though the case has arrived.

Yesterday was our 20 business days waiting of case number, sad to say that we didn't have it yet.

Anyway, while waiting, I went to my family dr. yesterday to get a copy of my immunization records, since he told me he found some but to make sure I had all the required vaccinations he ordered a BT to be done. So I am hoping to get the results on wednesday and get vaccinated if needed.

So I started another thread with a question I had but I think there's more relevant traffic in this thread, so I'll post it here.

I was searching the VJ forums for IV packages for a CR-2 (visa for my stepson). I read a thread that discussed the parental consent that is needed from both biological parents in order for my stepson to leave Peru. My stepson's biological father will not sign the consent, and so currently we are going through court. Has the NVC required the parental consent as part of the civil documents? I couldn't find a clear answer in VJ, and by reading the NVC instructions, it does not mention anything about it.

As far as I know, NVC doesn't require those documents. If they did, I would think they would list it here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html

But a consent form will be needed before immigrating since the child is under-age. Hopefully the court pulls through!

I have a question. If one were to not call NVC at all for whatever reason, would the NVC mail the petitioner and/or beneficiary with the case & invoice identification numbers as soon as they're generated? Kind of like USCIS do with the NOA1 receipt number?

Yes, if NVC doesn't have any email addresses on file, they'll snail mail information. Expect weeks to go by before you receive anything.

Hi Saylin, please help me regrading my issue. I have read in your post that it is normal to have this message:

But I am in the impression of after you receive their email instructions, I should be able to log in and pay the AOS correct? My problem is, I receive the email and the instructions about paying the bill but I still get this message that this case is in the process of termination. Is that normal? Should I wait for a little bit and hopefully I can sign in or just go ahead and mail the payment? Please help me. Thank you very much,

Yup, that's still normal. It's usually a day or two after you receive the email that you can log in and pay it. Just keep trying! And make sure you use IE as that's what the website is designed for.

Called NVC for the first time today, 1 week after shipped notice. They don't have my case yet. Will call again next week!

Definitely bummed NVC doesn't have a 1-800 number, because 800 numbers on Skype are free. I might have to invest in an unlimited to USA package on skype for the next few months smile.png

If you have a computer, a headset, and a mic, you can call the NVC number for free wink.png I never paid one cent when I called NVC everyday!

please what is the link to order tax transcripts? I got checklist and I am so upset. My husband now has to go get a "long form" birth cert. Apparently the "short form" birth cert. is not accepted. And apparently I put wrong numbers on I-864? I put what was on my tax transcripts?? I dunno. And my husband also needs to get court records. UGH

No, the short form birth certificate isn't accepted. It states on NVC's website it has to be the long form.

And you have to use the CORRECT numbers from the tax transcript. I'm betting it's question 13. The number you use is dependent on what tax form was filed (so, it's possibly you use different lines for the three years).

I received an email today that I can pay my AOS fee. Am I supposed to send in something before I pay it or along with it?

Nope. Log in and pay!

Regarding the FAQ in post #2, I was attempting to review the timeframe after case complete to interview for Canada, and when I use the link provided I am unable to determine when the case complete stage happened... it only lists NOA2. Or am I failing to see a time column somehow?

You have to open up each person's timeline in a separate tab ;) There's unfortunately no 'case complete' column (last time I checked). I had lots of fun doing this and made a spreadsheet when I was waiting at NVC to review my documents. But, I'm a dork like that, so XD

Exactly. They can't input anything until a case number has been assigned.
