update with my case: I was able to pay the AOS today @ 5:00 pm. I gather all the documents needed and its ready to be sent as soon as the payment posted! yehey!! Im so excited!!

Just curious, but how long does it typically take from NOA2 to NVC receiving file? And when they receive it do they send email/text or do we have to call NVC to find out if and when they received it?

Anywhere from 2-8 weeks You call so you find out when they get it. The beneficiary can use google voice to do this so you're not paying long distance charges from Canada. Both the USC and the beneficiary can interact with the NVC. I managed everything at the NVC stage besides signing the actual I-864EZ and getting the tax transcripts. I emailed everything and made every phone call.

please what is the link to order tax transcripts? I got checklist and I am so upset. My husband now has to go get a "long form" birth cert. Apparently the "short form" birth cert. is not accepted. And apparently I put wrong numbers on I-864? I put what was on my tax transcripts?? I dunno. And my husband also needs to get court records. UGH

It is 10 days since I paid AOS fee and one week since NVC received AOS packet. But IV fee is still not available to pay. Do not understand why NVC is taking so long!

It is after DS261 gets reviewed when the fee gets invoiced. If you're lucky, you can pay right then. Mine was available two weeks after submitting DS261.

hello folks

First time Posting and i have read the first and second page of this thread, lots of useful information.

My question is that i just called the NVC and i was told that they have already received my case, that i should wait for another 2 to 4 weeks for further instructions. What should be my next step here?

Hi. We're on the same phase!

It looks like in about 20 business days (about a month) we should be getting our case number and INN. VJ members recommend calling to get these numbers, instead of waiting. I'm not going to be calling very often. So read in Post 2 the recommended amount.

Once the numbers are available a lot of things will happen. This is a good time to get ready for them. I, for example, am getting the documents for the immigration visa (IV) ready/mailed to my husband in the US. He's getting the Affidavit of Support documents ready.

I spent the day going through Posts 1/2 again + the consulate's website, making lists of things we'll need to get. So, I recommend that too.

Good luck and keep posting. It's good to see how fellow "cohort" members are doing!

I've read post 1&2 several times, as well as the montreal thread. I've seen people posting in regards to MAILING in there IV papers. I was under the impression that everything was done by email, by enrolling in EP. So when we enroll in EP we can do everything by email and bring originals to interview?, or do we still have to mail originals to NVC as well as online? Could someone please clarify this for me

Canadians can do EP so we only need to email everything in, no need to mail... in fact it can slow down your process if you do. Everything will be done via online forms and emailing in once you've sent the enroll email. A lot of other countries can't do EP, so you'll see a lot of people talking about mailing in their packets.

Saylin received this check list today. What does mean ? We have sent I-864 form along with AOS pack. Is it false check list? or what kind of paper we have to submit again ?

I've been calling for over 2 hours, and all I get is busy signals.
