So i got my police certificate however they have mentioned as Miss (first name) (last name). I have decided not to change my surname to my husbands. So is this document ok to be used or i will have to get it changed to Mrs. When i call them they are saying that they give the certificate based on the martital status on the passport.I am using the same passport which i had before marriage. Kindly share your thoughts on this. Thanks.

hi guys can u please tell me i filled I-864 for my wife under f2a category. i have tax returns for 2012 and 2013 which is above 20K this will b OK as i have already mailed the documnets on jan 22nd 2013.wat do u reckon wether i will b getting a check list or not.thanks in advance

If your household size is just 2, then yes, you're fine for the poverty line at NVC. Consulates/embassies have their own guidelines though and if you're not high enough above, then they may request a joint sponsor.

No, you won't be able to log into the payment portal or the online forms portal without your IIN. Call back up later this afternoon or tonight to see if you can get it. Your case will not progress ANYWHERE if you don't have this number.

I'm not sure how big of a deal the salutation is. But, as for the last name, if you've never used your married name and the PCC came in your maiden name, that's fine. I was (and still am) in the same situation. Never used my married name, so I only applied for in my maiden name. No problems.

because in India they give our PC on ur passport name , and ur passport is still using ur old name

why it's missing? did you send it separately or you send it together with the IV supporting documents. Am worried here cause I sent my NBI clearance alone cause I did not include it in the IV supporting documents cause am thinking its only police clearance and when I read here in visajourney some got a checklist because of nbi so I sent right away my NBI clearance without waiting a checklist. Am hoping my NBI clearance will not get lost.

I dont know who lost my NBI Clearance but I sent everything to the lawyer (Abogadong polpol), my NBI and Police clearance together. As what my hubby said, the para legal mentioned about sending only the Police clearance thinking why i have sent two clearances. She think Police and NBI clearance are the same. BIG MISTAKE! its different thing. I sent the NBI clearance directly to NBI because if i send that to the lawyer it will take forever.

I hope when you send your NBI to NVC you have included the Document cover sheet and wrote your NVC case number at the upper right corner in the clearance.

Finally my AOS packet arrived to NVC today USPS error was suppose to arrive Friday (Paid Next Day). Now I just wait before I start calling I'll give it up to the last week of February.

How funny is it that the day I called NVC on Friday morning I receive my check list for the AOS packet Friday afternoon...I had already mailed out

15-20 business days is what I've been seeing

15 - 20 business days is what I've been seeing

depends when your CC date is.

If before Feb 20th then you will get April Interview

If after Feb 20th the you could get April but more likely May Interview

same time frame as sending intial packages

they say 30 business days

normally it takes around 18business days according to current time lines on VJ

Hi! Double happy! I finally figured how to use the smileys (only computer, don't work on my phone!)

NVC received our case on Feb 4!

My husband called today (7:20am, Pacific time; it took 15 calls within one hour to get through busy signals; 10 min wait). Yeah! I'll be busy the next 20 business days getting my documents ready and mailed to him. First thing: go re-read Posts 1&2 to make a list.
