I have a question regarding the expedite process with NVC. At the pace that its going, I am in danger of running very close to my wife's due date when she gets her VISA. Based on the timeline on my signature, my best case scenario is an approval from NVC by the end of february and an interview date of April. By April my wife will be 6 months pregnant. Anything beyond April will put me in a severe bind.

Given the above situation, yesterday my lawyer emailed NVC requesting to expedite my application. As part of the email, he sent the doctor's letter with the details of pregnancy and all relevant medical information.

@Saylin, Do you know how long NVC usually takes to decide on an expedite request and what is a best case scenario here? Furthermore and most importantly, will by regular process be delayed if my request gets rejected?

Keep in mind, pregnancy, unless it's high risk, is not a reason for expedite. It's worth a shot, but no guarantee.

And NVC doesn't make the decision. They forward the request to the embassy/consulate and they're the ones that make the decision. The time frame for this varies by country. Some places respond pretty quickly, day or two, while others might take a week or two to decide. Once they have, they'll tell NVC, and NVC will get back in touch with you with the outcome.

Nope, if it gets rejected, doesn't make a difference.

Hey Saylin: when filling out my father's I-864, part 6 #5 & 6a... He is married to my mother and they file married, filed jointly. For "current individual annual income", is that his and my mothers JOINT or just his?

Also if it is just his, then do I fill out my mothers information for part 6a?

As it says in the question "current INDIVIDUAL annual income", so put down what he's CURRENTLY making, right now, as of the filing of the form. Then put the mother's current income on 6c.

Only on the question about past tax year's income is it the joint amount.

I'm a full-time student and have never worked a day in my life. So I've obviously never had to file taxes. When filling out i-864 about household size... Should I only include the applicant and myself? I live with my mother but she won't be contributing to the income requirements. (My father will, separate household) I guess you could say I'm slightly still dependent. Pathetic I know but what would I do in this case?

Yes, your household size would be 2.

For your father's I-864, the household size will be at least 3 (himself, his spouse, and the immigrant).

Hi all, me again!

A quick question on the DS260 vaccination questions. It asks if I have documentation to prove I have the required vaccinations etc. I currently do not but will be getting them at my medical next week. Should I say No, but will have at medical? Or just say yes? Which is the norm?

We did expedite . But it was denied by the embassy. And my friend who did expedite also told to her that they will review their AOS for 3-7 days ..

i think every operator at the nvc gives a time frame but the usual timeframe i get to see through peoples timelines for reviewing the AOS and the IV packages is from 15 to 20 business days that is when someone can expect to hear something back as for the packages

Can someone explain to me why it's so hard for NVC to provide every case with a case number immediately after receiving it from USCIS?
