I was filling out the old 230 form, so I would be prepared of whats coming. I was a lil confused by writing down every time I was in the US. Will this question also be on the 260 that we have to fill out now?

And if yes, is it just when you had a visa before? Or really every single time I entered the US?

Thank you!

Yes, the question is on the DS-260 as well. And it's anytime you visited the US, with a visa or not. But, the awesome thing about this question on the DS-260 is that it only asks for the last FIVE visits, not ALL of them, like the DS-230.

without photographs can we send IV package to NVC or we can take those photos on interview day in embassy ?

If you don't include the 2 photographs in the IV package, you'll receive a checklist for it, just with anything else if you left it out.

From what I've heard, once both packages are accepted, then a final review is done. No idea how long this takes, but typically not long. (Although, time frames seem to have gotten longer and longer lately, so who knows...)

But a county isn't the same thing as a province/state. The US has counties within each state.

Added!

That seems to be their equivalent of a state. They don't have states. They have cities within districts, districts within counties. Nothing above counties. That's what's I read elsewhere. But I'm not British. I've just asked Mr Google the question :)

If there is no county, do not put a county!

It's really not that hard. :)

Saylin you need to add a title to yourself.

Saylin the Patient (or IMHO Saylin the Saint)

Sorry guys, last question on the DS-260 I promise!

The one part I'm having problems with is the the details regarding my previous employment (last ten years) and education information. Now, I know all the recent details but I certainly can't remember the start date of when I joined Tesco 9 years ago while at school! I also can't remember what my first day in secondary school was back in 1998!

The date options are in drop down box and day, month and year all have to be selected. Would it be ok to be approximate with this information or is it worth me going away and finding this information from the HR departments of my previous employers (which would be very long!)

Cheers guys!

Unless I'm mistaken (or they've changed things again), I believe they removed the "day" requirement, just asking for month and year. If not though, an approximate guess is fine.

First off, I've yet to see a checklist for the DS-260, and even with the old DS-230, I never saw a checklist for "wrong" dates on employment/education. The only question where I've seen multitudes of checklists come from is the places of residence. If there's gaps or the first date isn't right, checklists abound. Although, the DS-260 is good at catching errors as I've heard it gives an error when dates aren't back to back in those cases.

DS-260 won't let you submit without all the date holes filled in.

Also the DS-260 when I took it only asks for CURRENT employment or schooling, nothing from the past.

The alternative to find out past dates is... Go on the calendar on your computer (or any online calendar) and put the year and month in to where you want to look. For school, it normally starts the day after labour day. Easy peasy to find that date. For working, best guessitmate IMHO if you can't find out via records of employment or old pay stubs.

For most countries, it may be hard to get the needed documents. (For Canada, it was uber easy, and this is how my husband did his taxes while I was still in Canada, waiting for my interview).

Hiya! First time post and nowhere near NVC yet, but it is indeed tax season. I was just curious how it was uber easy for you to get the required documents for the W7. Do all we need as Canadians is a certified copy of our passport and the form? Thanks for all the useful information!

Yup, a certified copy of the passport is sufficient. I just went to a passport agency in Montreal, handed over my passport, and waited. Within a few days, it was ready and went to pick up the certified copy as well as my passport. Ended up being free too, so bonus :)
