I called the NVC two days ago and was told it is taking up to 8 weeks to enter the application into the system! I followed up asking her what is an approximate turn around time for the entire process, they refused to answer me and said it can take up to 8 months! This sounds absolutely ridiculous! NVC received our package on 02/05/14

Are others hearing the same timeline?

Ours took about 8 weeks to issue a case number (approved on Dec. 9th, received by NVC Jan 17th, case number issued Feb. 24). When I initially got the NOA2 back in december I scanned the forums and saw many folks taking 8 weeks for a case number so I wasnt too stressed when it took us the same. As far as the rest of the NVC process goes I dont know as I have just started that.

Thanks Jasminka8 :)

I just submitted my DS-261, Choice of Agent online. But after i submit i found out there is a mistake in the Agent name's spelling. So i edited and resubmitted it. Will that delay anything??

Sorry really not sure about that maybe Saylin would know. All the best!!! ?

Yes, that sounds right.

Thanks Saylin ❤

First off, you need to figure out which tax form was filed each year, 1040 or 1040EZ. From there, you'll use either the total income or adjusted gross income from your tax transcripts (depending on which tax form was filed). Please re-read the question again as it states exactly what line you need to use.

I'm pretty sure you can use whatever you want, as long as it doesn't leak through to the other side. I'd suggest just using a pencil.

Not yet! Will be doing that shortly once I catch up on this thread ;)

Yay, congrats, good news! (Hope you've read post 2 as that's not a scary message at all no0pb.gif )

No, they don't mail/email the form. You have to download it yourself. Once the bill shows as PAID on the payment portal, you can mail the package.

You can just use the present passport if you don't get a new one done before you're able to send the IV package.

yes thats about the answer I got from them. Its pretty vague...

I just want to know approximately so my wife can start working if she isnt coming for a few months....I havea ll the forms/payments ready, I am just waiting for approvals from the NVC. Any idea? Are we looking at 2 months, 4 months, 8 months?

Well, once you case is received bynvc it takes a month for the case #. Then it will take about another month to fill out forms and pay bills, provided you have everything ready. Then you will wait about another month to get case complete. That's to say if everything is done right and you don't get any checklists. After case complete you will wait for an interview date which is anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 months. Depending on the country. So best case scenario 4-5 months. This is an approximation. Like I said before every case is different. Hope this helps. You can also read people's timelines and signatures on they posts to see how they are progressing. :)

If I read this correctly, and we're approaching the mid-April requirement to include 2013 taxes on the I864 anyways, I would recommend using 2013 as the most recent year, and he does not have to provide the prior 2 years anyways. Using the employment letter is a good idea.

And I believe on your I-864, you need to state why you did not file taxes.

Thank you so much for your response! I was worried my post would go unnoticed among the huge amount of post every day here. You have brought me a lot of relief and confidence. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thank you again Lakehouse! :)

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

Hey, BOS, Portsmouth is only in the 1-3 inch band. Looks like you are in the 3-6 inch band, and I'm in the 6-12 inch band. New Hampshire should be able to withstand 1-3 inches....
