.... so I'm embarrassed to say that yesterday I realized I made ANOTHER mistake on my I-864. I was reading someone's question about Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, and realized I had actually entered my own information for the "Mailing Address" and "Other Information", thinking that it was actually part of Part 1.

I'm not gonna stress over it, dumb mistake... I've already sent a correction for another mistake so this time I'm just going to wait till the NVC sends me a checklist.

Just cheked mine.

That section is confusing, I had made the same mistake too and 1 day before posting i noticed it and asked Saylin

Thanks to her quick reply, i fixed mine.

that section needs to be redesigned so it flows from top to bottom and not jumping to next column.

I ONLY see prior marriage termination certificate needs to be submitted.

You don't have to submit it. Only divorce decree or annulment.

Unless during interview, some officers request for divorce papers (certified copy that taken from the court where its filed, again it depends by Consulate) then that previous marriage certificate is presented with the divorce papers.

Marriage certificate of present of course has to submit.

Divorce Cert for previous marriage as well, if there's any.

Case Status Update:

AOS bill appeared as Paid. - but no further actions to be taken as of now because we are waiting for acceptance response for EP.

My husband called NVC yesterday regarding the EP we enrolled, operator asked if when did we send our email to ENROLL for EP, my husband answered, it was on Feb. 16. Then the operator informed my husband to wait for couple more days because they haven't read the email yet, they are still reading received emails dated Feb. 06. huh.pngbiggrin.png

IV fee is still unavailable too.

i have a dilemma regarding my taxes, anyone wanna comment?

i'm domiciled in california, which is a community property state. in other words, any income i earned after the marriage is considered a 50-50 split with my wife. the way i see it, i have 2 options:

1. MFS (and amend to MFJ after wife receives SSN). Benefit here is that I don't need a SSN/ITIN for my wife. Drawback is the extra $ i will owe, as well as the complexities introduced by the community property rules. due to these rules, does she need to file a tax extension if we go this route?

2. MFJ. I will take a trip to see my wife in april and return on april 11. if i prepare my taxes and have her sign the return+ITIN documents, I should be able to mail everything off prior to april 15. The only drawback I see here is that the tax transcript may not be available in time for the interview.

what do you guys think?

Thanks, I didn't notice that earlier! You'd think they'd leave some kind of maintenance landing page up so people know what's going on, but that level of organization seems entirely out of their reach rolleyes.gif
