It would be fine to add couple weeks in the process as long as you got all the required requested as part of the process. Be sorry if there's no way to complete it.

Hmmm, something bothering in my mind to that situation you have shared. Why she didn't renew her PI passport ahead of time like couple months? I think the closest PI Consulate for her is in Toronto. She doesn't have to book for appointment, can come anytime from 9am-4pm, processing time is 6 weeks - 8 weeks but you can request to expedite.

I am not a Canadian, I am a Filipino, on PR for couple years too. I was about to apply but we decided ( my husband and I ) not to apply for Canadian citizenship because of the long wait process, also I will be giving it up in the future if I am eligible to apply for Naturalization in the US.So, we don't see any point to pursue it Now.

In my point of view, we are only allowed to hold dual citizenship as Filipinos.

My husband is a US citizen and my daughter as well.Though, our daughter is a Canadian - American. But, as I said, we don't see any point to pursue it at present.

HI Bellez,

Yes our situation is so similar. Wow!. But for my wife her goal was to get her Canadian citizenship the minute she got to Canada. And I agreed that it would be a good thing in case things got difficult in the states -we always had the option to go back to Canada. I tried to push her to get her PI passport, but she didnt want to do it. She had bad experiences with the Philippines consulate in Canada. My wife doesnt plan to be an American citizen and we hope to retire in the Philippines. So for us it works. But since you have a daughter maybe your situation is different. Yes, my wife had to wait 2 years after she applied to get her Canadian citizenship. Immigration in both Canada and the US is such a pain in the butt, dont even get me started about crossing the border. HAHA I can laugh about it now.

Anyways good luck with your apllication.

Just got my case number.

Once I pay the fees I will send out the AOS packet with the cover sheet.

Can I send in the IV packet before filling out the DS-260? The IV packet is ready except the cover sheet so once I have that paid I just want to send it off.

Thank you!

What's the wording on the bar coded cover sheet for IV packet? Does anyone have a screen shot they can share please?

I have checking the website Online portal form & payment portal and I don't see any updates on my case for acceptance of forms or scanned documents... Is this information only given by phone?

This is just a hunch but, did your attorney for any reason mention 2013 taxes in your I-864?

If you hadn't done your 2013 taxes and only submitted information for 2012, 2011, and 2010, then it's my understanding that the NVC should not need to ask you anything about 2013. However, it seems your attorney may have typed "2013" somewhere by mistake?

Hopefully someone else has a concrete response, but I'm curious because I know a lot of us have not submitted any info about 2013.

I called attorney and yelled at him. I had to do that! His paralegals doesn't have any idea about the process or our pain. ranting33va.gifdiablo.gif

We are going to send the response to the checklist tomorrow with 2013 tax returns after I meet him tomorrow. I have a feeling my paralegal mentioned 2013 some where on the form, but will confirm tomorrow.

Hey Saylin..

Could you add us to the spreadsheet?

NOA2 from CSC on Feb 20 2014

thanks!

Added!

Guys,

When there's an attorney, no DS-261 comes up right ?

In that sub-scenario, when are the AOS and IV bills invoiced after the case number is available ?

When an attorney is attached to the case, they're automatically selected as agent, thus no DS-261 is generated. Because of this, the IV bill is invoiced at the same time as the AOS invoice.

Hello Saylin,

I am the petitioner (USC) and i live with my parents. My mother is a USC and my father is still a green card holder. Since i am not making enough money, i am going to include my mother's income too. So which form should me and my mother use for AOS?

Also my parents filed taxes as married filing jointly (MFJ). So do i need to include my father's income too?

Petitioner: I-864

Mother: I-864

Your father doesn't need to file a form (aka contribute his income) if he doesn't want to. If he does, he'd file an I-864A.

When submitting tax information, make sure your mother includes her W2s along with the tax transcripts to show her individual income (if your father doesn't file).

Hello Saylin,

I received Checklist for AOS. Not sure whether this is fake one cause it is asking to submit 2013 tax return docs. I filled 2103 tax returns after my attorney sent the AOS packet.

instructions.

I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist

[x] The Affidavit of Support is an important legal contract between you and the U.S. government. During our review,

we identified one or more sections that were either incomplete or contained incorrect information. Please review the

additional instructions below then complete and submit a new Affidavit of Support. You can download the I-864

resubmit the form.

You must submit the following financial evidence:

[x] ____2013_____ IRS tax schedules.

[x] ____2013______ Federal income tax returns, IRS printout, or Letter 1722 issued by the IRS.

[x] ____2013_____ W-2 forms(s) or IRS Tax Transcript(s).

It's definitely a real checklist. Fake ones ask for the entire package; real ones ask for something specific.

I have checking the website Online portal form & payment portal and I don't see any updates on my case for acceptance of forms or scanned documents... Is this information only given by phone?

Calling is the only way to find out if packages have been accepted (unless you want to wait for the case complete email, which will be delayed by about a week or two, and it's a hit or miss if you even receive it).

What's the wording on the bar coded cover sheet for IV packet? Does anyone have a screen shot they can share please?

This information is given over the phone. So you must call them and ask

What's the wording on the IV barcoded cover sheet? Is it the same as the AOS barcoded cover sheet? Saylin do you mind sharing a screen shot? Thank you

It's the 'Document Cover Sheet' on the payment portal. It'll have a bar-code on it, along with your information.

OK - Now that I know my petition is at NVC, I'm trying to make sure I've got the I-864 nailed. I have two questions...

1. On Page 1, Part 2 is all about the Principal Immigrant. Is the Mailing Address (questions 2a - 2h) the place where my spouse CURRENTLY lives (in Australia) or should it be my address here in the States (where she will live once she immigrates, and where we want her Green Card and SSN card sent)?

2. I will be providing 3 years of tax transcripts. On Page 5, question 13, should I check this box (because it expressly says I'm only providing the most recent tax return), and check Box 14, as well?

Honestly, this document is so poorly designed!

Thanks.

Sukie
