Hello Saylin,

I received Checklist for AOS. Not sure whether this is fake one cause it is asking to submit 2013 tax return docs. I filled 2103 tax returns after my attorney sent the AOS packet.

instructions.

I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist

[x] The Affidavit of Support is an important legal contract between you and the U.S. government. During our review,

we identified one or more sections that were either incomplete or contained incorrect information. Please review the

additional instructions below then complete and submit a new Affidavit of Support. You can download the I-864

form and instructions at http://www.uscis.gov/i-864.

[x]

In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following...

[x]

In Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, please correct the following...

[x]

In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following...

[x]

In Part 4. Information on the Sponsor, please correct the following...

[x]

In Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following...

[x]

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[x] Item 5. You must enter your current individual annual income. This means the amount of money you expect to earn

during the current calendar year.

[x]

In Part 8, Sponsor's Contract, please correct the following...

[x]

The Form I-864 we received was missing the following page(s). Please ensure you include all nine pages when you

resubmit the form.

[x]

You must submit the following financial evidence:

[x] A written statement indicating why you did not file ___2013___ Federal income tax returns.

[x] ____2013_____ IRS tax schedules.

[x] ____2013______ Federal income tax returns, IRS printout, or Letter 1722 issued by the IRS.

[x] ____2013_____ W-2 forms(s) or IRS Tax Transcript(s).

This is just a hunch but, did your attorney for any reason mention 2013 taxes in your I-864?

If you hadn't done your 2013 taxes and only submitted information for 2012, 2011, and 2010, then it's my understanding that the NVC should not need to ask you anything about 2013. However, it seems your attorney may have typed "2013" somewhere by mistake?

Hopefully someone else has a concrete response, but I'm curious because I know a lot of us have not submitted any info about 2013.

It takes 10 days to enter a case.

Another month from that date to get a case number

Oh I know its a bit...I was just being silly hopeful ;)

What SHOULD be done while we're waiting for our case number...everything? nothing? And the lawyer says not to get the police cert..but I read posts that say we should.

Even more confusion I have no clue what im going to do or who to use for my AOS...so that doesn't help either. Problem is...technically I only support my youngest daughter..but my oldest who is 20 lives w me and goes to school so I claim her on my taxes to get more back. That screws me on the AOS guidelines. And the past income tax I claimed my brother who lives here also. But this year did not claim him because he works now. ugh. Help? lol....the AOS is about my biggest confusion out of ALLLLL my confusion right now. lol

On a different note, im afraid because I MOST LIKELY wont be able to attend my interview unless we reschedule...and who the heck wants to do that? I have a million doctors that can and will type up letters for me because it's just too risky for me to fly anytime soon. between my health right now, hospital stays etc... I cant fly until after I give birth...and after I give birth it'll take at least 5/6 weeks for me to be able to get the babies passport. And with this crazy pregnancy GOD ONLY KNOWS when he's gonna show his little face to the world. And DR is such a high fraud/risk country! uffff.....this is exhausting lol

Bingo! I asked and the person told me that Ireland processes through the Dublin embassy. I told her that my parents don't live in Ireland. They live in Northern Ireland which is part of Great Britain. They use different currency and have a different government compared to Ireland. (They also talk differently tongue.png) Fricking damn uneducated idiots! My parents WILL go through London. They don't understand obviously that NI is NOT IRELAND. Its the United Kingdom. Arghhhhhh! ####### and double #######. She said that it could take up to 30 days to change the case number but I can still go ahead with processing and will still be on the same time frame for paying the fee and submitting documents. I swear if this screws up my case even further, I will be freaking pis$ed!

It's a good job I spotted it! It could have gone unnoticed for months.

At least you can rectify it early. In that person on British Expats case she managed to get a new case number after a week because she kept complaining so you should make a massive fuss about it!

Im getting the AOS and IV paperwork drawn up.

Police Certificates that sort of thing.

AOS = a lot of paperwork.

Get your tax transcripts and errrrrything else is order girl.

Talk to an attorney ( or you may post on sites like avvo.com or justanswer.com ) about what your household size really is - it sounds to me like its 2

It might be 3.

Get a joint sponsor/co sponsor lined up ( get their IRS transcripts ready as well ) -- and make sure they make higher than what's indicated on the i-864 P

Do you have a friend or a relative who can help you with this ?

Just out of curiosity, you COULD have paid the IV first if you wanted to.

Is that correct ?

I don't know. It never occurred to me to do that as I won't gain much.

My first attempt was to pay both. It failed and printed an error saying I should pay the AOS bill first, then pay the IV after that. I didn't realize that 'after that' meant a couple of days. I made the (wrong) assumption that I could pay one after another within a few minutes. I guess I wasted a couple of days but this is the NVC afterall, I should be thankful that it doesn't take 30 biz days for a payment to clear ;)

It would be fine to add couple weeks in the process as long as you got all the required requested as part of the process. Be sorry if there's no way to complete it.

Hmmm, something bothering in my mind to that situation you have shared. Why she didn't renew her PI passport ahead of time like couple months? I think the closest PI Consulate for her is in Toronto. She doesn't have to book for appointment, can come anytime from 9am-4pm, processing time is 6 weeks - 8 weeks but you can request to expedite.

I am not a Canadian, I am a Filipino, on PR for couple years too. I was about to apply but we decided ( my husband and I ) not to apply for Canadian citizenship because of the long wait process, also I will be giving it up in the future if I am eligible to apply for Naturalization in the US.So, we don't see any point to pursue it Now.

In my point of view, we are only allowed to hold dual citizenship as Filipinos.

My husband is a US citizen and my daughter as well.Though, our daughter is a Canadian - American. But, as I said, we don't see any point to pursue it at present.

Actually you're incorrect that you would have to give up any citizenship (unless required by that country) when you obtain US citizenship. Canada does not require you to give up citizenship and if you did, it would have to be in writing. Canada probably has some of the most lax laws in regards to citizenship as in even illegal immigrants may have a baby who is considered a Canadian citizen as long as they were born there.

The USA doesn't require you to give up any other citizenship you have to become a US citizen, it just requires that you put your US citizenship above all others (and legally you must enter and leave the USA with your US ID - so they "do not recognize" another citizenship but neither do they demand you denounce it.) There are countries, notably the Netherlands and Denmark, that do not allow citizenship to another country.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss

don't want to be the bearer of bad news and hopefully this doesn't happen to you - but when I had to get my embassy changed... the NVC put my case on hold and all we were able to do was fill out the ds261 - couldn't pay any bills, nothing. 20 business days later when I was assigned a new case number for the LND embassy was I able to carry on paying the bills and sending stuff in.

That would royally suck - I hope that isn't the case but I fear that it will be :( I will be making sure that they know my name however and will be calling daily - why should I have to suffer even longer for someone else's careless mistake...

No problem.

Alternatively you could join and start a thread about it. The person will more than likely see it plus there may be other people that frequently go on there that it has happened too as it is a British forum.

Good luck!
