We have case numbers! I was so excited that I forgot the years that my parents were born. Also I found out that they will not be interviewing in London. They will be interviewing in Dublin - does anyone by any chance have any experience of the Dublin embassy? I know that there is a place somewhere on VJ that I can look up interview wait time averages, but I can't remember where. I have to now look up and see where they should do their medical. We assumed all along as Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom that we would be in London. Immigration just loves to keep us on our toes!

Which PCC office was yours ? My wife had to take the appointment online, then wait 40 days to get the PCC. PLus she had to submit all kinds of documents to establish eligibility. It was a totally screwed process. I am talking about Hyderabad.

I did mine at Trivandrum.

I did register online at the passport India site and paid Rs.500 for the PCC application online, but didn't take any prior appointment.

With effect from feb 23,2012, PCC applications don't need prior appointment if done from 9 30am to 11am and its valid for Hyderabad too.

And about the documents,check http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/docAdvisor/pccPassport

Hey guys,

I had a quick question about the PCC. I was born in India but hold Canadian citizenship. I lived in India for 5 months after my 16th birthday at which point I moved to the US under my parent's work visa as they were working in the US. I moved to Canada when I was 21 after having resided in the US for approx 5 yrs. Do I need a PCC from India and would I need a PCC from the US. I know I need one from Canada....

Thank you!!!

I called NVC this morning and found out that my petition was received yesterday, February 25th (from TSC - Dates in signature below). Without prompting the customer service rep told me to wait 20-30 business days before calling for a case number.

Lindystephan and I are on the exact same journey timewise. It's nice to be able to check in with each other!

hi saylin!im just new in this forum,i just wanna ask about the ds261 and aos fee?do i need to do ds261 for each of my children, and do we need to pay aos fee for each one of us.we have 4 cases,me and my 3 children.thank you!

Yes, the DS-261 is required for each beneficiary.

If the cases are all joined up, then only one AOS fee is required (but a separate IV fee is still required regardless for each applicant).

guys i just have a question. is it really normal that NVC used Beneficiary's name even on their instruction? because, they used my maiden name instead of my married name. and ill be printing out that email from NVC for my advance medical next week. my name on all other documents are all in my married name. why the heck NVC still use my maiden name. it confuses me. that they might use my maiden name on my visa or Green card???

Don't worry about this no0pb.gif If you're really concerned, then call them up to change it. Although, this may take awhile.

The visa (and thus green card) is issued after a successful interview at the consulate/embassy and the name they use is the one in the passport, not on any of the papers.

NOA2 approved january 3rd. NVC received Febuary 14th Case number came yesterday. For the spread sheet biggrin.png

Updated! And congrats on the case number!

If it was under 6 months in India, you should be fine and not need one (according to NVC's page here http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html [read the Police Certificates section]). And you definitely won't need one from the US as they do their own background checks.
