Hello all,

My wife and I just received our NVC Case number today! Yay! We were approved (NOA2) on December 9, 2013 at the Texas service center and the case was received by NVC on January 17th, 2014 to give you an idea of our timeline. I have one question now hopefully someone can help:

I was able to log into the payment portal online just fine however when I logged into the consular portal (the one where I am supposed to obtain the DS-261) it gave me this message :

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error."

Any idea why? Maybe I just need to wait a bit longer for them to upload the forms? Thank you!

March 14: Resent AOS packet as I realized previous two packets had JPEG's in them. This is my first correct packet with all PDF's.

You're definitely overthinking tongue.png

1. Just put whatever is closest. It honestly doesn't matter.

2. As long as you don't put 'drug dealer' or something like that, you'll be fine tongue.png Choose homemaker or secretary. Either is fine.

You're not going to get a checklist for something as insignificant as those types of questions.

Hello,

8 weeks seems to be the norm these days for getting a case number. I had seen many similar wait times when searching the forums over these few months.

No you don't. That's a personal choice. I called them every 3rd day to get the case number, and not at all between getting the case number and until a few days after I sent both packages.

I probably called more often between case complete and interview date and that was every second day.
