Keep in mind, just because you're living in the same house doesn't necessarily mean you're all in the same household. Unless they claim you as a dependent, then you're not in the same household.

I'd suggest the following:

You - I-864

Main income earner - I-864

Their spouse - I-864A

"Question 7: If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting Form I-864A, enter the number here."

For me, my parents and I are at the same principal residence. Is that the same as household?

I'm not an immigration attorney/lawyer, so you can do what you wish. But as I stated above, just because you're living in the same house, doesn't mean you're in the same household. I still stand by you filing an I-864, the main joint sponsor filing an I-864, and then the joint sponsor's spouse filing an I-864A.

The DS-260 can be found in the same spot as the DS-261: online forms portal. It'll only become available once the IV bill appears as PAID.

So, I was curious. I had data. I analyzed! Here are some highlights of what I found.

--Since July 1, 2013 there were 790 cases inputted in the VJ IR1/CR1 Visa Timeline that had received NOA2.

--When looking at those cases, it took an average 216 days to go from NOA1 to NOA2.

--About 44% of the people (345) had their cases received by NVC, and it took an average 22 days for their cases to be received.

--From here on data get choppier: folks stop updating their timelines or are still going through the process. Who knows? BUT

-----41 people had their cases processed by NVC; it took an average 55 days (time between NVC received and NVC left)

-----It took another 9 days on average, for 26 cases to be received by the consulate, after leaving NVC.

Ill stop here sample just got too iffy to be talking averages.

Would someone help me Understand the fields in the VJ timeline: what does Packet 3 Received, Packet 3 Sent and Packet 4 Received mean (not the actual packets! I read posts1/2!!!, but the data field on VJ Timeline).

Curious about something else? I may be able to pull the data!

Thanks

Well you should receive your case number today. They up to 20 business days. You should call them later this evening. People inputting the cases are most likely grandmothers and they take forever. Today is our 15th business day. I called this morning, no hold time and the lady said most definitely by the 20th business day.. But I'm calling twice a day. In the morning and evening. I suggest you do the same. Good luck. Update your timeline too, doesn't show when NVC received your case.

Thanks, yeah I will try again later today.

Also - as far as I can tell my time line does have the NVC received date - I just checked my visajourney timeline and its there and I also have it on my signature. I hope it is showing up so other people can see it....??

Packet 3 isn't applicable for IR-1/CR-1 cases; that's a K1 thing. It's basically a combination of the AOS and IV packages that they send to the consulate/embassy.

Packet 4 is the interview letter!

Please see this page about police certificates and whether you need to send it: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html (scroll down to police certificates).

Also on that page is a section on military records and it states that you have to send them in, no matter what country it was.

Please review post 1. There's two links you need to look for: one is the payment portal, the other is the online forms portal. They have different URLs.
