NVC Filers - February 2014

Hey everyone! I am new around here and I am a little confused about some stuff for the NVC process. I am preparing the documents needed for the NVC process, and I am a bit confused with the i864 stuff. my brother in law (who I live with currently) is going to be a co sponsor.

questions 1: Does he need to file the i864 as joint sponsor number one? or does he do the i864a because I live with him? We wont be living with him for long once my husband gets here so what is better?

question 2: can I enter my expected annual income because i have only been working at this job for 6 months. Should i include a letter from work stating my expected annual income?

This stuff is so confusing!

I hope both of you, and all others still waiting for this ridiculously elementary step to be completed, get good news soon. I hoped NVC might be a little more methodical and ordered than USCIS but they seem to make less sense all the time. Stay strong guys, better times are coming.

Thanks BOS_LHR✌

Your case got to the NVC on the same day as ours. If they're working on the 21rst, I'd wager a bet and say it'll be in tomorrow if it's not in right now. I thought that they were working on the cases from 1/16 still, until I saw BOS's post in the Facebook group. It looks like they're definitely working on 1/21's!

Saylin,

does the interview date email come instantly or do we have to call for that as well?

As someone else said already, no, it's definitely not instant. I found out my interview date through calling on a Friday. I didn't receive the email until the wee hours of the morning on Saturday.

I just received a check list that says "The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant’s

supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be

reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation." I already sent all the require civil document with the IV package. Is this a fake checklist?

Yes, that's a false checklist. Please read post 2.

Quick question..

After we receiving Case number from NVC, If we choose mail options instead of email for ( contact NVC and to pay fees etc).

How many days it takes more ?

Example

everything done in email with NVC= how many days?

everything done via Mail with NVC= how many days ?

I have attorney that's why I am asking.

India isn't eligible for EP. You have no choice but to snail mail packages.

How long does it take for the DS 260 and the IV bill to become available, after the DS 261 and AOS have both been completed and paid? Thanks. I just sent the AOS package today and NVC will receive it tomorrow 2/25...

The DS-260 only becomes available after the IV bill appears as PAID. And the IV bill is only invoiced after the DS-261 has been accepted and added to the case file. Neither has anything to do with the AOS package; that's another track completely. Please review the flowchart either in my signature or in post 1.

Hi Saylin, will you add me to your spreadsheet as well? Thank you. smile.png

question 2: can I enter my expected annual income because i have only been working at this job for 6 months. Should i include a letter from work stating my expected annual income?

This stuff is so confusing!

1. Both of you fill out a separate I-864. The I-864A should really only be filled out by spouses of joint sponsors.

2. You certainly can! The question is asking about CURRENT income, what you're making right NOW, as of filing. Doesn't matter how long you've been at the job. You can include pay stubs and an employment letter if you wish, but if you have a joint sponsor, it's not really needed. But, if you want to prevent any possible checklists, it wouldn't hurt.
