No it doesn't REALLY mean they actually have shipped it. And yes it takes up to 8 weeks from approval date to get a case number from the NVC.

So the USC should call the USCIS and inquire with a tier 2 (only a tier 2) if the case has in fact been shipped to the NVC and what date it was shipped on.

Once the NVC actually receives the case it takes 10-30 business days (not including weekends, holidays or NVC closure days) to get the case numbers from the NVC.

Thank you!

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

You should be able to get one from Payroll or HR, just need to find a contact. Our company also uses verification sites/numbers, but I specifically asked for a letter and they created one for me (through Payroll).

My hospital also uses outside contractors for employment verification... Is that still okay? As long it has all the required numbers and such?

From what I understand, those outside contractors require the person or entity (in this case the NVC) to call or submit a request for employment verification. I don't think the NVC will do that even if you provide the information. The best thing to do is to speak to someone in your hospital's HR or Payroll department and ask them to create the letter for you.

I changed jobs last year, and at my previous job I requested a letter from someone I knew in HR and they were able to make it for me. At my current job, I contacted payroll and they also were able to create the letter for me.

The employment verification letter is not required, but I went ahead and submitted it because I saw a couple people get a checklist for it.

No, it's not required.

Yeah, me neither. I put my name, DOB & SSN on any attachments and the number in the form to which they corresponded, but never the Case number. I don't recall reading that anywhere! Where did this info come from? Why would the case number be necessary if they were all mailed together?

The reason why it's suggested to write the case number on the top right of each document (in both packages) is in case a paper gets misplaced at NVC. So, to help prevent this, if the case number is on each paper, then it can easily be relocated to the case if it gets lost.

What AOS documents should I (the applicant) bring to my embassy interview?

Copy of the entire AOS package. Same thing for the IV package. Probably won't be needed, but still good to have.

please i so need ur advice and ur help so im an April 2013 filer for I130 for a spouse, i got a transfer to another office , then i got the second transfer on November 18.2013 to Texas service center, then another transfer on Januarry 23.2014 to my uscis local field office, so im really stressed and i so wonder why its taking this long, therefore other cases filed after us got approved, im happy for them but i so can't wait to get aproved and be with my wife, please advice me what should i do, and im so thankful for ur help and i so appreciate u , thank you

All you can do is wait. You can try a service request, but that might not do anything.
