I have decided that waiting for "case complete" or (god forbid) checklists...is a worse wait than the 8 month USCIS wait I had. :-( At least when I was waiting in that stage I kept busy by reading the NVC forums and getting things organized for the next step. Now that everything is submitted I don't know what to do with myself! Its only been a week since everything was received and it feels like 20 days!

This will be the longest 30 days of my life I think. The only good thing is that there are no more federal holidays to contend with until May and hopefully we will be approved long before then...now I just pray the weather starts cooperating! :-/

Here!!!! here!!! to that Jully 30. I am sailing in the same boat as you.Keeping my fingers crossed no check list and full co operation from the weather.

On hold with them right now. Doubt that we'll have a case number by now if you don't have one yet.

Ok this might be more of a tax question. My W2 total income is different from my Adjusted Gross income on my Tax Transcripts.

Now what do I mention on the I864 EZ part 19 for Total income? The Adjusted Gross income or the W2?

Do I say N/A or none on Alien Registration for the beneficiary

Do I say 0 or " -" on form part 16; b , c, d if there are no children/dependents etc

Thanks in advance

I am getting confused with Part 3 question on i-864. I would appreciate if anyone can give me feed on this question. Before I begin, my household size includes me and my wife only and we both work. Now I applied for both my parents and both I-130 got approved and currently awaiting for NVC #s at the NVC phase. I am also aware that I would have to fie 2 separate I-864 (and I-864A) for each parent.

Under Part 3 (Information on the Principal Immigrant)

1. I am going to check this box as YES

2. Will I be checking this box? It says that do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition but then instructions also mention about Spouse and/or Children so I feel like I should check this box and then mention my mother's (or my father depending on whose I-864 I am filling out). If I select this then I need to fill out 2(a,b

,c,d,e and f)

7 If I fill 2 then my I will have to out 2 as total number of immigrants.

Part5: Sponsor's Household Size

I think I should have 4 as total household size. 2 for me and my wife and 2 for my immigrating dad and mom.

I feel like these two questions are throwing me off because I am reading contradicting statements on different websites. If I dont mention the second intending immigrant in 2 then my household side will be 3 which I feel is incorrect.

Thanks in advance for any and all the help.

Yep, that is if the ds261 is already available. Check ur case with ceac using ur case number and invoice id number and when the ds261 is already available, you can already fill it out and submit..no need to wait for nvc's instructions.

Hi Saylin,

Please add me to the spreadsheet also. I got my case number today, but no IIN yet. Are they still giving a BIN? If so what is it for. Thanks in advance. Lady at NVC was kind of short. I guess they are swamped...

Added!

Call back up tomorrow and ask for the IIN. It's typically assigned at the same time as the case number. And yes, the BIN is still assigned, but it's no longer needed. It used to be required for the DS-261 and DS-260, but it seems like they removed it when the online forms became required for everyone.

Thank you Saylin,

One more thing, I filled out my DS-261 last feb.4 ut until feb.17 we still don't have our IV fee available so then I reviewed my form and found out I made a mistake with the country of my husband (agent) that should be US instead of Philippines so I edited it and sent it again and had a acceptance letter again like the one we had before. would this be a problem? and will cause a delay?

Make sure when you're quoting someone, to put your answer OUTSIDE of the quote tongue.png

To answer, no that's not a problem. When NVC gets to your DS-261, they'll be looking at the most up-to-date one.

Did USCIS forward ALL our docs to NVC including our evidences of a bonafide marriage? And will NVC forward ALL of them to my country's US Embassy? Thanks!

Yes.

I just wanted to share my timeline with everyone. It might be a good reference for others.

NOA1 April 13, 2013

NOA2 Dec 07, 2013

NVC received case on Dec 21, 2013

NVC assigned case # Jan 13, 2014

NVC accepted DS-261 on Jan 28, 2014

AOS paid on Jan 29, 2014

AOS payment accepted on Feb 02, 2014

Package IV paid on Feb 7, 2014

NVC received AOS package Feb 08 2014

Package IV payment accepted Feb 10, 2014

Submitted DS-260 on Feb, 10 2014

NVC received Package IV on Feb 14, 2014

NVC entered Package IV in their system Feb 18, 2014

I just called them few minutes ago to get an update on the case. The answer was was 30 days.

I asked her 30 business days? She answered yes.

I dont think that is the case (30 business days) the lady operator seemed fed-up with us callers.

It'd be helpful if you put all your important dates in your signature. That way, everyone can see your dates at any time, instead of just that one post.

Is it too early for us to be put on Feb NVC google doc thingy?

It's not month-specific. I have dates back from 2010 tongue.png Anyways, you've been added wink.png

Saylin

I have a question, I just filled out my DS 261 AOS of form online. I have a question regarding the package, I will be attaching one pay stub from 2013 and one from 2014. On both pay stubs it has year to date amount, and the one from 2013 shows amount greater than the present poverty line $20,000 and the one from 2014 shows YTD which is less than $19,000 my question is should I include pay stubs from the years of my tax transcripts (2010,2011, 2012) or stick with 2013 and 2014?

Also do you have an example of a cover letter for the AOS package? Thanks.

Well, obviously 2014 isn't anywhere close to being over, so of course the YTD amount won't be anywhere close to your 2013 one. The purpose of pay stubs is to show your current annual income, so including pay stubs from 2010-2012 would be pointless.

There's an example AOS cover letter here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_bring_your_foreign_spouse_to_live_in_the_US#Attachment_2_.E2.80.93_I-864_.28Affidavit_Of_Support.29_Cover_Letter

And here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/I-864_Cover_letter

And here's mine: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16fpd3oYb5oYesSgc5OI5YPXalrhp1po28q9R7MnACIc/edit

Hey Saylin, can you add me to the spreadsheet, please. My case was approved Jan 29.

Added!

How long does the National Visa Center take to make an appointment for interview after case is complete for New Delhi India?

You can find out for yourself here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=India&dfile=No&adv= (make sure you disregard those going through Mumbai as that may be different time frames).

You're not supposed to use the income from your W2 for question 19. The number you're using, as it states in the instructions, is either total income (if you filed a 1040) or adjusted gross income (if you filed a 1040EZ). Those numbers are taken from your tax transcripts.

Since the question is applicable on having an alien registration number, put 'none'. And put zeros for the boxes in 16 where you don't have anyone.

Are you referring to the DS-261? Most people select the petitioner as agent, but it doesn't really matter (especially if you give over both email addresses as then all correspondence from NVC is sent by email).
