NVC Filers - February 2014

I received notifications that my 130 and 129f were approved on Feb 3rd, received hard copies like a week later from TSC.

On Feb 5th, received notification I29f sent to NVC

On Feb 14th received notification 130 sent to NVC

I called NVC about 129f they told me it will get cancelled because if defeats the purpose of processing the 129f if the 130 was approved at the same time.

Question: how long does it take for NVC to receive my file from TSC if notification was on Feb 14 ? and will I get a notification from USCIS once NVC receive the 130 ?

Exactly the same for us :) No idea at this stage...

Finally got through to the NVC and received the awesome news that our case is complete! No interview date scheduled yet. And despite all the busy signals earlier, I spoke to someone in less than 10 minutes!

hi Saylin

just wanna ask, what are the possible reasons for the IV fee bill to take so long to be invoiced/available.?

The IV bill is based on NVC accepting and adding the DS-261 to the case file. Due to the recent holidays and weather closures, they've obviously fallen behind and are in a backlog, so time frames are gonna be a little longer.

Hi Saylin,

India's passport office does not provide Police Certificates for any alias that is not on the Passport (Aliases are not allowed on Passports)

The rule goes something like "ONE Police Clearance PER LEGAL NAME on Passport"

How do I approach this with the NVC ?

Anybody here have any experience with this ?

I'm not exactly sure what your question is. Do you have an alias or something?

Saylin,

Please add me to the list... I am trying to find out what is the usual lead time for NVC to review ds260...

Thanks,

Added!

Hi Saylin,

1. Are there any documents that require the beneficiary signature at the NVC stage?

2. My joint sponsor is married and files taxes jointly but only wishes to use His income since he meets

the requirements individually. Would His W2s be sufficient to show His income portion from tax transcripts?

Thank You smile.pngsmile.pngsmile.png

1. Now that the DS-260 is required by everyone, no, there's nothing the beneficiary needs to sign at the NVC stage.

2. Yes, if he only wants to use his income and not include his spouse, that's fine. He'll need to include his W2s with the tax transcripts to show his individual income.

Saylin, would you add our case rec'd date on to spreadsheet. 2014/02/11. Thanks a million.

Updated!

NVC Received our case Feb 11 2014. Woohoo. Please update spreadsheet. Thank you

The nice fellow told me that in about 10 - 12 business days they should have a case # for me. But I won't count on it lol.

Updated!

Hi, I have a few questions which i don't seem to find answer or maybe i over looked. USCIS had just approve my parents(mom & dad) I-130. Since my income does not meet the household income guideline, my husband will be the co-sponsor (I-864a). We file joint return since the day i live in USA. I get mix answer on how to file I-864. Could some please review my sample pdf in red pen color if I did it correctly. Thanks in advance for your help.. I know that each person need to file separate I-864/I-864a

Two things I caught wrong:

-Part 3, Question 2d, it should be spouse, not mother. The question is asking about the relationship to the sponsored immigrant, not to the petitioner.

-Part 6, Question 13a-c, you have the years listed backwards. The most recent year is 2013, not 2011. It should be 2013, 2012, then 2011. Make sure you change the income amounts as well.

Besides that, it looks good.

Hi,

Just a suggestion: I know your question is about household size, so if you post a specific question, you will get better/accurate response. i personally think your I 864 is accurate in refernce to household size smile.png Lets see what other members think smile.png

Two things I caught wrong:

-Part 3, Question 2d, it should be spouse, not mother. The question is asking about the relationship to the sponsored immigrant, not to the petitioner.

Thank you both. Now I felt more confident that I should put a check mark on Question 2 Part 3 and fill out 2a Family Member. And income need to be in recent yr first.

All Cyrillic characters are in symbols on Microsoft Word. Open Word, click insert, symbol, and piece the name together one character at a time. Then copy and paste it into the ds260. There might be a simpler way, but this should get the job done.
