NVC Filers - February 2014

Can I ask 2 very stupid questions please?! Our AOS free is now showing as 'paid.' The AOS packet that everyone talks of - do we actually have to wait to receive something before we send it off?! Do we actually receive a packet that we then have to return, or do we just send off our forms now and not have to wait for anything?!

Also my second stupid question - when we get round to doing our IV packet. Do I have to sign the form, and then send to my USC husband? Or as he's now my agent, can he sign the form on my behalf?

Question : if you very recently paid your property taxes, the receipt includes the value of the asset. Will that work?

Nope the lady at NVC said an updated appraisal is all they would except, but like she said if you make enough income don't send in any assets . ?

I believe you don't have to wait to send in the AOS packet - as long as it shows paid, you can send in the documents.

Also - you would have to sign the IV since it is your application. As far as I know, the only way to legally sign on behalf of another person is through power of attorney.

The only stupid thing is not asking your quetsions lol You dont have to wait for anything, however; my question is that do we have to send the paid AOS reciept with AOS packet? If yes, is it a barcoded reciept?

Which form? Are you referring to the ds260? If so, it is submitted online therefore there's no need to sign it with a pen or anything.

This may be a dumb question. I'm looking over the screenshots preparing for ds260. It asks you to write things in my hubby's native language. In Bulgaria they use the Cyrillic alphabet. How do you do this on a computer? For the USCIS forms I was able to write it. Since the form is not available to me yet I don't know what options it gives you. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm just trying to be prepared.

All Cyrillic characters are in symbols on Microsoft Word. Open Word, click insert, symbol, and piece the name together one character at a time. Then copy and paste it into the ds260. There might be a simpler way, but this should get the job done.

Yup the IV fee and ds260 usually become available a week or two after ds261 has been submitted (ours took one week, but lately other members said it's taking longer)

My expedited request was approved today. Since my case was complete last week, I would have most likely received an interview date for April. But with the expedited request approved, I am guessing my wife's interview date will be sometime in March.

Hi, I have a few questions which i don't seem to find answer or maybe i over looked. USCIS had just approve my parents(mom & dad) I-130. Since my income does not meet the household income guideline, my husband will be the co-sponsor (I-864a). We file joint return since the day i live in USA. I get mix answer on how to file I-864. Could some please review my sample pdf in red pen color if I did it correctly. Thanks in advance for your help.. I know that each person need to file separate I-864/I-864a

I received notifications that my 130 and 129f were approved on Feb 3rd, received hard copies like a week later from TSC.

On Feb 5th, received notification I29f sent to NVC

On Feb 14th received notification 130 sent to NVC

I called NVC about 129f they told me it will get cancelled because if defeats the purpose of processing the 129f if the 130 was approved at the same time.

Question: how long does it take for NVC to receive my file from TSC if notification was on Feb 14 ? and will I get a notification from USCIS once NVC receive the 130 ?
