Hi Saylin, I just got off the phone with a lovley lady at NVC and she told me that since my sponser makes enough income I will not need the proof of assests. So my question is, about part 6 number 5 where it says annual income, my father owns property and gets rental income plus his ss and pension would all of that go into number 5? Thanks i am just so scared to get anything wrong

Yes, assets is always optional, whether you have a joint sponsor or not.

And yes, I believe so.

random question: when filling out the AOS, I saved it and then went back to it. I know that the barcode is supposed to move as it captures data but mine doesn't appear to be changing and I am scared that its screwing up. When you filled out your AOS, did you do it all at once instead of saving it and then going back into the document?

quick random question... the I-864 instructions say either "type or print" - for the instructions for line 30 it says print, and then we have to sign and date on 31... does that mean we have to handwrite i.e. "print" our name on line 30? I already sent my 864 in, and after reading the whole fiasco about not mixing "typing" and "printing" (I typed my form but in a lot of places I was unable to put N/A so I hand filled that in after I printed my form) I'm freaking out - don't want to get a checklist for something so minor!

Another question:

I was an Au Pair back in 2008/2009 in the US, so I had a J1 Visa and received a SSN. Of course the SSN is expired by now, because it was only valid with the J1, but I believe I will have the same number once my Green Card is done.

My husband and I are wondering now that especially with the tax stuff if we should put that number in there or stay with the NRA for the SSN? I mean technically for my name there is an excisting SSN, doesnt matter if its valid right now or not.

Anyone any excperience with that?

Hi guys! Quick question. When you get your case number you usually give your email address right? my question is, what is in that email? and how long before you receive email from them (NVC)? Thank you so much.

I posted this yesterday, but I wanna ask again if someone can give me advice...

I have a question on DS-260.

How can I put petitioner's foreign phone number with 11 digits.

It doesn't let me go next until I put at least one 10-digit phone number.

Since my petitioner lives with me outside the US, we have no US phone numbers.

The way I did it was:

Calling from the US to Mexico

011 = number to call out side the US

52 = number of the country calling

664 = Area Code

###-#### = telephone number .

So I the it looks like this:

011 52 664 ####-####

It went thru just fine.

Like TYorke1 said, this talk of additional evidence with IV package has me worried too. I sent in a fat stack of every type of evidence I could think of with the original petition, but I didn't send any additional with the IV thinking that I could just bring it with me to the interview. The only thing I can think of to add is more skype records, cards to each other and our families, and pictures of gifts. Maybe me and my families flight itenary and hotel reservations for our upcoming trip to visit her? Our time/sleep schedules match up, so we don't really have chat or email transcripts anymore since anytime I'm not at work we have a skype video call going, just a record of hour upon hour long calls everyday.

Anyways, I sent in the IV package last week, is it too late to send additional evidence with another IV cover sheet?

Additional evidence is not required here. If you have all the civil docs below then you're good to go..

What is needed in the IV package?

Generally, the following is needed:

- Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

- Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary (on the back, write: beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number)

- Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport

- Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original police certificate(s)

Please read: http://travel.state..../info_3195.html for additional documents if applicable (such as petitioner documents in IR-5 cases or divorce/military records or proof of permanent residency, etc).

Also read the country-specific documents linked in the first post. There may be additional documents needed not listed above.
