Updated! And I took NBC from your timeline. I'm not psychic tongue.png I have no idea where people's cases get transferred to if they don't mention it in their timeline or signature.

Where was your case approved from? And please fill in your timeline, it helps everyone.

saylin, any idea whats causing the backlog at NVC

too many petitions getting sent or are they slow

iam still waiting on my IV fees, filled the agent form on feb 5th

ClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gif

Holidays + weather closures + influx of petitions from service centers = backlog

Anyone please help regarding our case NVC case number. I was born in the Philippines but I am a Thai citizen. And in

all my documents it says that I am a thai citizen and my address. But the NVC gave me a number that will be sent in the Philippines but I am here in Thailand. What should we do? Thanks in advance for your reply. And it took 27 business day before we got our case number.

If you're residing in Thailand and were issued a Philippines case number, then contact NVC immediately. You'll likely have to email them proof of residence. Hopefully it won't take too long to change :/

Can some of the Indian VJ members who have submitted the IV package to NVC advise me whether it is a good idea to send the original Birth Certificate of the beneficiary to NVC? It is mighty hard to get another 'original' birth certificate from the corporation in Kolkata in case the original sent to NVC is lost.

Can we send a copy attested by a Gazetted Officer or Notary Public in India and carry the original Birth Certificate to the interview?

i was going to send original, but after reading post and 2 and ur questions i would rather send certified copies.

You can send the certified copy.

so by certified copy would be taking the original and photocopy to my bank manager and getting notarized.

is that correct

after reading more posts.

i guess i will send the originals and request them to be given back after interview.

Saylin or anyone with any insight :)

Got a couple of questions... I'm filling out my wife's DS 260 and came across two questions about "occupation". The first question I have is about her spouse's (my) occupation, but I can't seem to find an option that fits my "occupation?". I work in Logistics for a company that makes construction tools. The closest thing I could find was Business or Other... I just think it's strange that there are so many options but none of them seem to match my occupation.

Next question.. the form asks in what occupation my wife intends to work in the US. My wife will eventually work, probably as a secretary which is what she has been doing but won't work in the beginning until she's comfortable with the language and everything (which probably applies to most of us here). I want to put Homemaker, which is what she will be doing technically for at least a year. How have you guys taken this question?

Don't want to worry about it too much, but curious to see what you guys think!

You're definitely overthinking :P

1. Just put whatever is closest. It honestly doesn't matter.

2. As long as you don't put 'drug dealer' or something like that, you'll be fine :P Choose homemaker or secretary. Either is fine.

You're not going to get a checklist for something as insignificant as those types of questions.

Hello,

I chose student for my wife, since she has to go to school to learn the language before looking for a job as cashier.
