I'm in the states on a K1 visa and filling out my AOS forms. Having conflicting thoughts about this question.

"Have you received public assistance in the United States from any source, including the U.S. Government or and State, county, city, or municipality (other than emergancy medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in the future?"

here is my story:

​I was volunteering on a farm in California in different years starting 2007 - 2010. During that time I went to the dentist. They said because i was not making an income that I qualified for 'medical'. I probably went to the dentist 3-4 and to the doctor for once for a pap test.

How do I answer this question? I am not likely to receive public assistant in the future.

anything advice will help. Thanks

Always answer with the truth so the answer would be yes, you could try attaching an explanation letter and listing it on your cover letter.

could I get denied? Or will I have to pay the money back? What do you think will happen?
