I-797C received, now I'm confused

So back in October we received a 797 stating that we had included the $85 biometrics fee and it wasn't required (to which they returned the money order we sent in), subsequently we went to the bio appointment and got everything completed and Z received her AP/EAD combo card. Now I get another 797 stating that I need to provide the same $85 biometrics fee they told me I didn't need in October. I am currently waiting on a call back from a tier 2 rep and hope this can be cleared up soon. Any thoughts?

Sounds like someone got confused and sent your bio fee back. Get ready to send in the $85. Did you send in two money orders? One for the I-485 fee of $985 and another one for the bio fee of $85? Or did you send in a single money order for $1070? The way you wrote it my bet is two separate money orders and someone got confused as to what the $85 fee was for and forgot about the I-485 requires the taking of bio information.
