My mom has arrived few days back. After she is clear with her POE, is there another process she has to under go, such us paying some fees, filling up some forms etc? So far, she did not receive any instruction from her POE.

When can she receive her green card? Can we call NVC to follow it up?

Did she get an I-551 stamp in her passport at POE? That serves as her temporary Green Card until she gets her physical Green Card in the mail within a few weeks, you should be able to apply for the SSN with the I-551 stamp, even if you checked the box requesting a SSN I would still go to a SSA office to apply to expedite the process.

If 2 weeks have passed and no SS comes in the mail, might as well go to the nearest SSA office and apply for it. Bring mom's passport, original NSO birth certificate and original NSO marriage certificate.

For the GC, did you pay the immigrant fee of $165 already?

The immigrant visa fee must be paid.

pay it? green card arrives.

want a SSN? get to SSA office 2 weeks after POE date, apply.

When does my mom receive her gc? Is it after paying the $165.00?

She cannot get it without paying the fee. It takes 1-6 months to get the green card after paying the fee, which must be done within the first year in the USA.
