CAMBRIDGE, Md. — The House Republican immigration principles stress that undocumented immigrants will be allowed to live in the United States “legally and without fear” as long as they meet a series of requirements, according to a draft of the document set to to be released Thursday.

It stresses that those immigrants will not have access to a so-called special pathway to citizenship, meaning a new path that’s not accessible to other immigrants using the current system, according to the document, obtained by POLITICO from several sources.

“These persons could live legally and without fear in the U.S., but only if they were willing to admit their culpability, pass rigorous background checks, pay significant fines and back taxes, develop proficiency in English and American civics, and be able to support themselves and their families (without access to public benefits),” the document reads.

It just so happens I have a copy of that GOP draft right here:

1. Admit you are a pos, drug smuggling cantelope watermelon sized leg illegal alien who broke the law.

2. You will pay back taxes, approximately 60% of all wages you made from the lucrative and cash flowing business of picking strawberries and lettuce.

3. No hablas Ingles? GTFO

4. Due to the aforementioned lucrative strawberry picking jobs that you illegals are stealing from hard working Americans you do not need nor will be given public assistance.

Yours truly,

John ####### and the GOP

In summary, the GOP is now for something until yesterday they were against. Are these people for real? And on top of it all, they will probably claim theirs is a brand new original idea. Edited by Gegel

You guys know what this means? The only thing we need to do is get someone in Mexico to smuggle in our love ones and the "visajourney" is over. They will give them a visa without the journey. Yippy!

Would it be wrong of me to confess that my wife and I actually talked about this 3 or so years ago while waiting? Would have been easier, probably. For sure cheaper.

My husband and I are seriously considering this. I kid you not. The people who are doing this right have not put up enough fuss about how backwards this process is.

If you steal bread, you don't even have to pay for it.

The GOP were for it, before they were against it, as evidenced by the BushBaby Immigration Reform measure from his second term. Immigration reform failed then. It needs to fail again.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
