Maybe his house is not as manky as your fiances seems to have been. Maybe he is capable of doing his own laundry.

Laspoxaroumeni you really make me laugh. Not all men are complete pigs and many women don't want to sit at home doing laundry or cleaning. Just because you enjoy it doesn't mean everyone does.

Heck it's Saturday, I'm bored and I'm scrubbing grout. I like things to be clean but I dislike cleaning. So yes, I'm THAT bored. So I totally get where your fiancee is coming from DaPoets.

So I'm a U.S. Citizen and the lady is Canadian. We just got approved for our K-1 this week (Montreal consulate) and she is waiting in Toronto for it to come in the mail w/ her passport. We have not started on any social security number or EAD yet obviously. What's the quickest route for her to be able to work after she comes to the states on the K-1 visa. She doesn't want to just sit on the couch watching TV all day long.

Huh.

File the AOS after marriage, include EAD/AP applications with it (fees are waived)

then

wait up to 90 days after for EAD to arrive.

That's it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

So as an update the 90 day wait for her to work didn't set well with us. So she got a job offer after we got married and I submitted that offer letter with our AOS/EAD/AP paperwork and called them numerous times to get it expedited (the EAD). They scheduled her biometrics and just after that she got her EAD and AP approved. 4 weeks total turn around time and it would have been quicker by a week and a half if they had an earlier biometrics appointment slot.

Complacency doesn't work, if you want the expedite just go for it. I'm sorry to see here that everyone in this thread told me to sit and wait 90 days and have her go volunteer...

Great to hear that it worked for your wife! But as I have read numerous times here, not all EAD/AP expedite requests are approved. My husband and I took our time, because he wants me to adjust slowly (culture-wise and accent-wise) and not be pressured, and who am I to complain? I have no problem with speaking English, but I have a very soft voice. I enrolled myself in a local public speaking program. I guess your wife has that advantage. :) I also have to learn how to drive, learn the roads here and bring myself to those upcoming interviews. I did enjoy my time knowing people from my community, volunteering, familiarizing myself around here and making new friends. To each his own, I guess.

Cheers to you and your wife's new job! :dancing:
