Hey, Im curious about this... can I live in USA during the process of the K1 VISA? I would appreciate some info about it.

You may visit as a tourist, assuming you have or can obtain the appropriate visa (or VWP).

No. Having a K1 in process does not allow you to live, work, or otherwise go to the USA.

Now, if you have a tourist visa, you can visit during the process, but you still are not allowed to work or officially reside in the US.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

You can be inside the US visiting while the I-129f is being processed. You cannot live here. You will need to return to your home country for your embassy interview when it is time for applying for the K-1 visa.

Yes, you can visit... Once you file, you can go and stay as your tourist visa permits. Keep in mind you have obvious immigrant intent, so you will need to be able to show ties to Mexico (job, school, house, money etc) to prove why you will return... But you can only LIVE in the USA with an appropriate visa, not as a tourist... But you can visit.

4/4/2013. : Oath! Now a U.S. citizen!
