Today 2 girls that I helped with Vawa had AOS interview, one girl will post here later she was approved, the other girl the case will be reviewed Because she does not post here anymore,I will describe her interview.

She went to the interview with her lawyer, despite I was the one who handled her case. The immigration officer just asked questions regarding form I-485, and asked her name, since she changed her last name after the divorce, and the officer asked to see the passport as well, that is it! .The officer did not ask ANY question about her ex husband, no one question about how she met him, bonafide marriage...nothing... The officer didn't ask to see her original birth certificate and original divorce decree. The officer said they will review the case and she should have an answer within 6 months, and gave her a paper saying the case will be reviewed and if additional information is needed, she will get an RFE.

They are acting very weird lately, because she was the third person since last week that attended interview they did not ask to see the original documents, despite I saw several people getting this letter saying about the 6 months, but usually 2/3 months after the interview they approve the GC. I saw a few cases after a 2/3 weeks.

Jessy L usually USCIS deny AOS based in vawa just if the alien has a felony or significant misdemeanor, or if the alien is bigamous,or if the alien remarried while Vawa was pending,or before filing Vawa, or if they find any misrepresentation, besides that they don't deny AOS

Sandra is right about that letter, I was given that letter today at my interview and its seems to be a "thing" they do ( formality). the officer explained that he will approved my case at the end of the day. All questions were from the I-485, nothing about the marriage or anything. He took my I-94 card and viewed my ID, he did not stamp my passport. He did not ask for any documents.

Without me asking, he told me they will send anything for me in the mail ( rfe if needed or GC) and that it usually takes a few weeks. He also asked if i had a lawyer, says my paperwork was really good and he was impressed (thanks Sandra). I felt like he was contradicting himself a bit.

One more thing; The status of my case online...... untouched since december 2013.

Sandra could you please answer one more question. I filed my vawa 17 months ago since then nothing. I made an appoitment cor infopass for coming Thursday as you advised me.

Tell me please nowadays vawa adjustication takes a few months. Can I send a new I-360 with all the same info? The congressman told me that my case is still under background check and there is no timeframe for that. My lawyer tells me that there was a huge fbi backload at the time I filed my case and I need to wait. Can the vawa be filed twice? Sometimes I think that if I file again it will be adjusticated sooner as nothing helps to speed up the proccess.

A na - Stas you got approved?

No not yet:( I filed vawa 17!!!! months ago

Yeap I am in NY.

I have never got any RFE as I sent all the required info including 2 police reports, hospital record, 2 orders of protections, psychological evaluation etc. My third Prima Facie expiring at the end of the month.

I inquired congressman, ombudsman, filed a few e-requests, e-mailed VSC. Nothing seems to help:(

I am so stressed now as I believe you know what is going on in Ukraine now. I am from the West part of it (from Mariupol) and there is a war now over there. All my family is in danger and it is very scary.

It would be a bad idea to refile another I-360 when your current one is still pending; you would essentially be starting the process from scratch.
