I think we all should just start appreciate help from Sandra and remember one thing, that though yes we all have been there or still are, and we all feel desperate in a sense, but in the same time I am sure a lot of questions that people have, can either wait or be found in the internet, or even we can be more proactive to solve them.

I think being very invasive we just take opportunities from future men and women in the same situation who will need help urgently, if you have a question just write it here, if no answer - write it again, I think Sandra has the right to prioritize - whats urgent and whats not. But the bottom line - phone calls must stop!

Well said. i agree 100%

Fanci1 if the officer asks about working without work permit then ANSWER the question saying YES.if he/she asks why then explain. If the officer doesn't ask why,you don't have to explain.

You can just refuse to answer question about the abuse.,and if she keeps asking about the abuse then ask to speak.to his/her supervisor ,after you mentioned Vawa unit adjudicated already about the abuse abd you prefer not to talk about that , but all other questions related with work you MUST answer.

You will be fine. The faithful God that brought you until here ,He will finish.what he started in your Life.

Jessy L.I can't change my phone number.I am using this number for 10 years already. Starting at 7pm tonight I am going to turn off my phone , and during the day,and weekends I won't take any phone calls anymore, that's the only way I found to continue here.

We are just in June and I have so far over 60 Vawa cases approved this year, two cases this week(I am talking just about visa journey members). I know that many people can't afford to hire a lawyer, and I love what I do, but some people need to understand I have a life. As I said before I really don't mind to answer emails or visa journey pm,or even text messages, but some people exaggerate, calling me 2/4 times per day. I can't stand people complaining about USCIS. The most what I can do is to review documents, give my personal opinion in each case, review affidavits, besides that I will not listen complains and complains about USCIS. I know many people are frustrated with the delay regarding adjudication of their cases, but people take to far the complains. We need in this country people who loves the US, people willing to work,to make a difference here.Stay in the US just because Vawa case was approved should not be the only reason to stay here at all.

I know some people have the need to vent,to talk, but sorry I am not the right person for that, not with the busy life I have.I am doing my best to help people, more than that I can't handle. Thanks for your kind words.I am staying here...for now.

I'm overwhelmed with this. I have to get it out off my chest. As most of you know that I'm staying at the Domestic Violence shelter. One of the women here is in the same situation as I am despite she is a victim of human trafficking. When she was in her home country, she found a "brilliant opportunity" to work as a nanny in the USA. She had to take the opportunity to come to the USA so that she could feed her mom and blind grandma. That brilliant opportunity turned out to be human trafficking. She was brutally abused sexually, physically, mentally and so on. She became a sex slave and was given forcefully illegal drugs like crystal meth and heroine.

Luckily she didn't die and got help.

She's applying for a U visa.

Today she came back from the hospital and told me the heartbreaking news. She's got AIDS.

Now her all hope is wiped off. My heart just goes out for her.She used to anxiously wait for her case to be approved so that she can take care of her mom and grandma....

What I'm going thru is nothing comparison to her life.

It made me ashamed how stupid I am that I thought if my case is not approved then that's the end off the world. My point is that some people have the way bigger problems than I do.

It makes me think about definition of the word "HUMILITY".

Please pray for my friend.

Dear Sandranj

Thank you so much for your help , I know that you dont charge people for your service

but I think you deserve to get payment if you help people since you have your own life and

your own expenses .

I believe if you charge people lower than other attorney still it is a great help for victim of family violence,

so I would like to suggest you to charge people when they call you or when you handle their cases

lower than other attorney . you could answer questions here for free. in this way , you will help people

and you will have more time for your family

Thanks again

thank you nicesky for your nice words. Not even charging I have time .I work as.an attorney already and I my life has no more room to do anything else .I live 20min from NYC and sometimes I take 6months to go there ,because I just don't have time available.I know I am gifted by God to do what I am doing and this gift I use to help others .I have a great life,I am really blessed and I believe everyone deserves the same, because of that I decided to help people. I made good friends here, people that I meet sometimes.I am just turning off my phone every night at 7pm.I hoped this solve the problem and stop the calls.

sandra,

I am heading NOW to my interview.I am so nervous.

My ex filed order of protection against me but the judge dismissed that from the first hearing. Is this considered arrest or conviction ?shall I disclose it?

Fancy1 If you had any restraining order against you, even if it was dismissed then you must take to the interview CERTIFIED DISPOSITION from the court, I posted about this matter many times in the Vawa thread. If you did not get the certified disposition they probably won't approve your GC today ,they may ask you to mail them.YOu don't have an.arrest or conviction, but you should disclose about the restraining order ,as I said they will ask to see the court disposition .

Ben b you had interview already right ? So many people here that I get confuse sometimes ,yep if you had interview ,and they are asking medical exam , then it's the only thing missing in your case in order for USCIS to issue your GC. If you did not have interview, then it does not mean approval yet.

Ben B USCIS can adjudicate the case until 6 months after receiving the RFE answer to adjudicate the case, but of course they do not take that long. I saw cases that took 2 weeks, others 30 days, and just a few cases took 2/3 months. Let's hope for the best.
