Thank you. I tried google the county website but it's not working but I will keep trying. Also can you give me an idea if I write a letter asking a friend to collect or check the status from county will that work? I can get it notarized from my home country. Please let me know.

What county in California is it? I will try to find the working website for you.

If you send someone to the county court they do not need a notarize letter to check status of your divorce since the case is most probably public information, your friend can walk right in and check on the court's computer using your name or your spouses name.

I replied to your pm, with a functional website. The website allows you to look up cases so you shouldn't have any problems finding your divorce case there.

I wish you the best

I don't have exact days because I'm at work.. but I'll give around when..

I filed for vawa on January 2013

March 2013 I got my work permit

April I got my license.

Got my biometrics appointment a week later

Vawa was approved some time in August 2013 . My case was transferred to NBC September 6 2013.

Same day it was transferred to local office.

Bounce back to NBC September 26.

I renewed my EAD January 24th.

I got my receipt some time in February to my home address.

Got an other biometrics appointment to my home address again on February 14 2014 this time they only took my picture , my signature, and my index finger print..

Got an email that my case was transferred to an USCIS office than a week later I got an other email that my case was transferred again to my local office..Than a couple weeks later I got a letter that my case was transferred to Vermont office.

AT2000 as I said before there is no difference in the timeline if the alien submits a fee waiver or pays the fees. All cases I submitted paying fees or filing I-912 the prima facie were issued in 20/30days.

Hi Sandra,

You were right, I received the waiver: accepted and I have my "biometric appointment" in a little more than a week. The decision was made in 30 days.

Thank you!

Sandraj,

In order to become a citizen through vawa we have to wait 3 years after receiving our GC or after I360 approval?

Thank you

It would be 2 years 9 months from the "Resident Since" date on your green card if you were married to a US citizen; 4 years 9 months from the "Resident Since" date if you were married to an LPR.
