I wrote the local state above. About a timeline, I had tried to do it earlier, but it seemed too time-consuming and complicated. My basic timeline is in the post. 6 months from I-360 submission to approval. 5 months from I-485 submission to approval, 4 of which were at the NBC. I gave fingerprints a month after I submitted the I-485. My interview was less than 2 weeks after I received the interview notice.

Good enough. Thank you and best of luck to you.

Yesterday something very weird happened, two girls that I helped had their vawa cases transferred yesterday morning from Vermont to NBC, and a few hours later both cases were transferred to the local office. It took just a few hours in the NBC.

I hope their cases remain in the local office. The same thing happened with mine where in one day it was tranafered to NBC then moments later it was sent to the local office. However, exactly one week from that date my case went back to NBC and seems to still be sitting there.

Best of luck to those girls...

Thank you, Sandra, for all your help and advice. I am very thankful to you, especially for guiding me through the documentation I needed to supplement the I-485 (back in September/October 2013 you told me about what documents were necessary for a complete I-485). This was really helpful, as have been all your comments and support. So thank you very much! You are doing great things and should be proud of yourself. Best regards!

congrats piper2013.

Hi everybody. Hope all of you guys are doing good and we will have a lot of approvals in next few month. I have a little update in my case. Maybe somebody will find it helpful for yourself. So, long story short. Was married to GC holder. Sandra advised me to file for VAWA and Adj of status and Work Authorization as well. We weren't sure that they will accept it, but I decided to give it a shot. I mailed the documents on December 17. They received it on December 23. On January 2 I got notice of action for all 3 forms. I checked my bank account, check was deposited. On February 21 my petition for EA was approved. Card delivered on Feb 26. I was prepared to wait for 5-6 month until they will make a decision on my VAWA. Surprisingly 68 days after I filed, I GOT APPROVED. YEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

What I want to say. If you filing with lawyer and he/she saying you can't get work permit if you are/were married to GC holder, make you own decisions on that, There no guaranty, but there always a chance and hope. If you just filing and starting you application and it all seems so complicated and confusing, seems like long time ahead and no guaranty, just hang in there, it's not that hard as it seems to be.

Also. Big THANKS to Sandra. She helped me so much with my applications. Without her support I won't be able to do it all by myself.

Sandra,

The I-485 was updated saying we transferred your I-485 to your local USCIS Office for further processing.

Though, we saw the update on the I-130 form, the update was

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Does that mean that they going to send the information about the I-130 to the abuser?

I know that they can not give info about filed I-360, though we kind of worried that they will send him something that make him upset.

Can we change address on this form now?

It is so weird that they was such update, because I thought that the 130 was denied already.

Jessy L it seems your sister husband did not withdrew the I-130, or maybe instead written I-360 they messed up and sent it the wrong letter saying I-130. I advise your sister to go to the infopass ASAP, just to make sure about it, because if it is a mistake she must to let them know in order for them to fix it, otherwise they will continue and might send it to the husband "by mistake" the mails.
