Hi Everyone,

Great news, I received my green card in the mail on Saturday. I am so happy and relieved this process is over. From start to finish my VAWA and I-485 applications that I filed jointly took 7 months and 25 days. I had prepared myself for 1-3 years so I feel so grateful that I have been fortunate. I will continue to log onto the forum and help others with my experience if I can. I have updated my timeline.

I hope everyone has a great week and we see more progress and approvals!

Good day everyone

My interview is tomorrow 8am in NYC

I feel like I am ready but very stressed hope everything will go well.

will write about my interview tomorrow =)

Good luck mashaka!

And this got me thinking, what do you need to take to interview? Since I just got approved and next step is to wait for I-485 interview I would like to know what is all needed even though I'm sure it will months before I hear anything about appointment for interview...

So far I know I need to get the medical done. Should I go now as soon as I can, how long would it take to get it done and get the results, same day, few days, weeks?

Thanks,

Caruguy the medical exam take 3/4days .Some times Uscis asks to mail the medical exam, sometimes asks to take to the interview ,you can do now if you want or wait 30/60 days DO NOT MAIL THEM WITHOUT THE RFE.

Take all original documents ,such as valid passport, birth certificate ,marriage certificate your children birth certificate ,and in case they want to see bona fide marriage proof take all bills you have with your name and her name as well.

You mail a completed I-765 application (with the checkbox marked for "Renewal"), a copy of the front and back of your current EAD, two passport photographs, and a copy of the receipt NOA from your I-485 showing it's still pending. I believe if you have a pending I-485 then you will file the I-765 with the Chicago Lockbox.

Thank you Sandra! Go it!

I do not have the original documents for marriage certificate, or kids birth certificates, only copies. So I need to get on that and figure out where in my state will I be able to obtain those.

Being divorced would I might also need to take the divorce decree?

If you don't have it then your lawyer should be able to give you a copy.
