Hi Everyone. Ihad my interview on August 6. Interviewer was very mean asking questions about my divorce decree. At the end of the interview she said it takes 2-3 weeks to get the greencard. Well its 7 weeks today and i'm still waiting. She didnt say approve or not so i dont know what to think. Ihad an attorney and went with my 3 year old daughter because my ex had written to imigraton i had taken my daughter to my natve country to live with my mother and so i went to immigration with her. Intervuwer just asked me is that your daughter whom your ex hubby said was away in your natve country and i replied yes. Like i said still waitng. I am worried. Sandra please when can i go back to ask about the status of my case?

Hanna b how did the interview go?

Hi Everyone,

So my interview went really well and I was approved!

I arrived in Fort Smith with my attorney. My attorney had already had one other vawa adjustment that morning and said it had gone very quickly and she was hoping I would have the same officer. Sure enough the same lady called us back to her office. I was asked to swear the oath and take a seat. It was really informal and the officer and my attorney were chatting for a while before we got started.

The officer then asked me to confirm my name, date of birth and that my address and cell phone numbers were still the same.

Then she asked me if I had anything new to add to my file and I handed her the sealed updated medical I had done. She opened it and went straight to two sections and then ticked some things on her file and said everything looked great.

She asked me about 5 of the yes/no questions from the I-485 application.

Then she confirmed I had a good medical, an approved I-360, and everything was in order with my application except for my new biometrics hadn't been uploaded to their system yet. She had already filed a request for that to be done prior to my interview and said it shouldnt delay getting my card for long. My attorney told her I had travel plans in November and she said it won't impact them. And she confirmed I would get the card in the mail after that!

The whole interview was about 5 minutes.

So much relief!!!

Send a completed I-485, sealed I-693 medical completed by a civil-surgeon, I-864W, and a copy of the approval notice of your I-360 to VSC.

If you cannot afford to pay the $1,070 I-485 application fee you can submit a fee waiver request to USCIS by including an I-912 with your packet: http://www.uscis.gov/i-912

It will depend upon how backlogged your local office is. I would anticipate waiting at least six months for an interview.

No RFE. My local office is Orlando FL, and processing time says 7 months ?

Awesome! Hopefully mine will go like yours :) Uscis recieved my stuff on June 16 and I have not gotten any RFE so far... and hopefully I won't and everything will be good and get approved in the same amount of time you did, so that will hopefully be soon :)

Carguy, have u received your prima facie yet? Im really looking forward to getting my work permit. 7 months for the green card is not bad. I can be patient with that. But i need to work soon. They denied me food stamps and medicaid for my daughter and money is super tight right now. Does anyone know how long that takes?
