Any new stories from interviews? (mean/newbies versus nice/professional officers?)

I had my interview (that was mistakenly appointed in a wrong state), lawyer went there instead of me (plus wrote to supervisor before interview). They admitted it was mistake on their part (I did change address properly) and my file is being transferred...somewhere...

People, please don't have heart attacks (I know I am on the edge of one), they make mistakes and they are not very organized, so hang in there!

Hello

After biometrics for i485 I got a letter indicating my case was transferred to Missouri,my local office should be in California I am waiting for interview. Why did they send it to Missouri?

Posted

Missouri Service Center = National Benefits Center, where family-based adjustment of status applications are initially processed. The NBC will then transfer your I-485 to your local office for an interview and final adjudication.

Does anybody know if I need to bring my abuse and good moral character evidence that I filed with 360 to the AOS interview? Also, will that be a problem if I do not have any original proof of ex's citizenship (only copy of passport)?

Posted (edited)

The IO is not allowed to re-adjudicate the I-360 petition at your I-485 interview. They are not meant to ask about the abuse (although some do, in contravention of USCIS' own guidelines), and if you have already proven the US citizenship or LPR status of your abuser (and if your I-360 was approved then USCIS have accepted this as proven) then you should not need to prove it a second time.

You guys one more thing.

What category did you guys put in? ©(9) or c31. I am so worried now. I put c31. I didnt have an approved vawa at the time of filing. Shouldn't I put c9 instead of c31? If so, whats my consequences? Will my ead application be denied? :( for wrong answer on the category question?

Thank you very much for answering my questions!

wildwoodflower21

I put C31 - but mine was approved by the time. I hope you did not forget to send passport pictures as well - I did not, as the result I still do not have EAD even though I filed six months ago...They sent RFE for pictures two months ago, and now I guess they are processing or whatever is going on...
