Luoboy be very careful selecting lawyers, keep in mind some lawyers are liars. You didn't not get a denial because you didn't file your Vawa without a lawyer, many on this site filed Vawa on their own and got approved, you got a denial because you didn't prove your case. I'm not saying that the lawyer you seen is a bad one, I don't know him, I am just telling you to be careful selecting one. After a great deal of research I was fortunate to find a great one, yes it cost me a ship load of money but that lawyer took a lot of time to put my VERY complex case together and I got approve in 3 months with no RFE's.

By the way Louboy, being in removal proceedings is a big deal! everything you do now as to be done strategically.

Like I said in my earlier post, I don't think you put your package together properly and I think that at this stage you will need a GOOD lawyer to help you put it together in a organized and timely manner.

Definitely follow Sandranj's advice and go see a psychologist now!!

I have decided to contact some lawyers who are VAWA attorneys out of state and I think they are in a better position to help me, They know the urgency of the matter and are already working on the problem. Tomorrow I am sending them the RFEs and all that.

Hello guys.

As always I am an avid reader and follower of this thread everyday.

Congratulations to the new approvals!!!! :dancing:

I am also curios about this question asked by mamaof3. I wonder If it is possible to go to school while waiting for VAWA and without social security.

I know that it's going to be a long wait, but I keep checking the status on the website about my VAWA. And the estimated processing times it says is 5-6 months (correct me if im wrong)

What confuses me is that is this a real number? Because I see a lot that takes way more than 5-6 months for their VAWA. Im really confused.

Also, I did receive my receipts and prima facie. But is it normal not to reeive text message notification or even email notifcation from Vermont? Even in the very early stage of the process?

I hope I dont bore you guys with my silly questions. I am just really worried about my VAWA case and very anxious like everybody here.

Anyways, lets stay strong and continue to support each other.

I dont know any other place as supportive as this forum!(L)

hi wildwoodflower, i do wish someone replies on this question we both asked, i really want to apply for school, but the website says they wont process FAFSA without social, but I will go to the campus to speak with an administrator. Can you state you timeline? dates on when you filed and what was received etc? take care

In the Initial RFE I wrote them I wrote them a letter to change address but it was ignored and the second rfe was mailed to a wrong address. In the second RFE I filled a form AR11 but still it was ignored.

you can not just write a letter. You have a vawa case. THe letter has to be in proper form with notarized signature.

Leilabird have you heard anything after your interview?

I have never been scheduled for an interview. What happened was My VAWA got denied and appealed. They re-opened the case though they denied again. My attorney is planning to send a whole package of I360, 756 and 458 all together. I have an appointment for a physical exam on July 31. The att will send a package once I get my physical done. I have no freaky idea why my att wants to send a physical exam this early. That's all I have going on so far.

I am not sure what is the requirement of the state you live in. But in Indiana, Social Security office will give "not for work" social security number with your Prima.

Hi everyone hope your enjoying the nice summer weather....well I had my interview two days ago an the officer I got was the same one my son got 4 months ago she was very pleasant and nice.

She said she may need to request fingerprints for my son again since he just turned 14 she has to double check an once that is done we will be approved so I'm half happy an half hopefully that all pans out well.

I gave her my new address an she wrote it in red on my file so she said any document an my green card should come to me now.

So I'm back to waiting an plus I still have to wait on visa availability since my spouse is an LPR.

she only asked for my old an new passports my I94, my medical an questions off the I485 she even started checking 'no' for some of them while going through.

So I'm trusting God that I will be approved an both my son an I will receive our green card once a visa number becomes available.

So far its almost a month and havent received a decision after my interview,so I,ve been thinking about anything that could possibly go wrong..

1) my original passport had my original last name but when l got married l started using my husband,s last name, but then after we separated and l renewed my passport a year after filing vawa but l still kept my original last name.l did not used my husband last name on my new passport.can that be an issue?

2) when l was pregnant l received WIC but when the IO asked if I,ve used any gvt assistance l forgot about that so l said no even thou my child gets foodstamp and med assistance.l did not explain further.I,m worried they might use this to deny me..somebody!!

Hang in there missymd I'm waiting with you now.
