Hi All,

I have visited this site a lot, but am not much of a "poster". My girlfriend is undergoing her immigration process via VAWA and many times I have come here to check out timelines, per se. I figured I would share with you that on November 12, 2013 my Girlfriend's case got transferred to the NBC and today (right now actually) she is having her interview with our local office. Fingers crossed. I pray we are in the the home stretch and that no more curveballs are thrown at us.

I would also like to mention that when we entered her case number into the "My Case Status" website, it still shows that it is at the NBC, but she received a letter via mail for an interview. I don't know why this is, but we are grateful all the same.

Also, thank you Sandranj, as many of your posts have been very informative and have brought me confort through this process.

hooray! you are the best Sandra!

It's a special day for me today.I am very happy for 5 people of this thread that I helped with their Vawa and /or AOS,and they had the GC APPROVED today. Some I reviewed their own affidavits, others I reviewed all forms, etc..and one Vawa approval as well(I answered the RFE)

I am very sad for Elada case, but I truly believe that the same God that brought her until here,He is faithful enough to finish her case. A person is not finished when he/she is defeated, but when he/she quits.Hang in there Elada!.

Congratulations Ann.nie07!

Hello everyone. Just wannted to update i got approval for gc today! Went for interview first thing in the morning, waited in tth waiting room with other people who had lwayers with them i could her some grilling the peron they were going with, like what to say if they got ask this question and so on... it was crazy. All i could think of was everything sandra advised me and all that ive read in this forum. I was praying. Got a very nice io. She was smiling as soon as i walked in, just usual yes or no question. Then asked for my birth certificate, then back to the yes or no in the form. Then she said i didnt have the exemption of affidavit of support form so she gave me one and had me fill it out on the spot sign then she put it on my file. Then she asked for my passports. The old and new one. Then she started writing on my passport after that she showed me she wrote pending change of status the date, her name and signed.then gave me the paper while saying "everything is in order for me to approve this, just wait for your card. It says 60 days but we usually take less" thats it. I was so nervous happy and surprised i almost hugged her.
I cannot thank you enough sandra for everything you have done and helped me with. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you

Faithkeeper my ex was USC,but l had my interview two weeks ago on july 2 but l,m still waiting for a decision.my IO was mean that my lawyer requested to speak with a supervisor bcos the IO wanted to ask about the abuse and my lawyer said no to her..she didnt give me a decision instead she gave me an interview result form that said my case is uder further review..l have a feeling that she,s trying to come up with a reason to deny me.the supervisor told her to not to ask about vawa but to focus on the I485 form only..there were no issues with the form so l dont know whats taking long.....

Don't worry you will be approved an you can move with your life!!! $

Hi everyone,

I'm very glad to say, that this my part of a journey is over. My GC on my hand. :wow:

I gave an I-485 interview last Tuesday with no lawyer. I was so lucky with my smiley nice IO, who asked me only Yes/No questions and checked originals of my passport/birth certificate/etc. No single question about abuse and ex-husband. Also he requested 864W and a renewal Medical exam dated 2012. I brought all this inquiry to him by the end of the day. Last Thursday i received an e-message from USCIS that they mailed me a letter with my permanent status and ordered a production of GC. All it happened so quick, but I've been waiting for this very last step over the year since my 360 was approved.

I wish everyone, who still on the middle of his way, a lot of patience and all the best!

Truly you,

Verona

Wow, so many great news, and sad ones=((( Congratulations and lots of patience!

I have a question, I am not any near the interview, but I am anxious - what do you do if IO asks about abuse, and I am there without laywer who can request the supervisor and say no you cannot ask it. What to do in this case if you are there by yourself, I am afraid I might just freeze and do nothing, not knowing what to do....

Henry that is awesome! Did you get any RFE? It has been a month now that I did mine and have not gotten any RFE. I have done biometrics for I-485 on 7/9/14 as I sent along with I-360. Hopefully mine will go as fast as yours :)
