Hi Ben B,

I am pretty sure you can not just walk in, but if you can travel then you can make an appoitment to another office (for ex in New York you have a choice of 3 uscis locations).

I just receive another update:

The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on June 26, 2014. The USPS tracking number

Does that mean I'll have my card for my trip in two weeks? It's hard to believe...

may be it depends on a state?

did you have EAD at that time?

I ran into that problem.l qualified with the prima facie but they needed a ssn to get financial aid.

TariesL you have a pending I-485 already, then you should not file another one.You can file I-765 along with form I-360, and submit proof you have a pending I-485.

Uscis usually takes 30/90 days, I saw people getting in 15 days, others in 30/60 days.If your Vawa is denied, you can refile again, forget about appeal, just 1% is approved.

Ok, so I don't need to file another I-485, thats good news. I will filed the I-765 for EAD, along with my pending I-485 proof.

Ok, consider VAWA appeal forgotten, it doesn't seem worthwhile. So my question is this - If I file with my current I-485 - what would cause it to be denied? Would it only be denied if the I-360 and VAWA is denied? Or can it be denied on its own merit? If it is denied, can I refile my I-360 VAWA, and stop any follow up from the USCIS who would try and remove me based on my failed I-485? Or will a refile then be useless, if the I-485 is denied?

I'm just trying to figure out all the possible scenarios, in advance to filing!

Thank you!

With an approved I-360 the approval of the I-485 is usually just a formality. Denials have happened, but not often, and are usually from inadmissibility issues. I think remarrying before VAWA approval is something that will cause a denial, also.
