Timing of Biometrics?

Hi all,

Just got my NOA for ROC Jan 22 - from the VJ timelines it looks like folks are getting a biometrics appt roughly 1 month or so from their NOA date. I will be gone on vacation from Feb 12-24, so I am a little concerned that I might miss my letter or my biometrics appt.

I know I can't "walk-in" until I get my appt date - just wondering if I can "miss" my original appt and walk in later?

Also I work during the day and can't really take time off - I am assuming I will be able to reschedule if the appt time is inconvenient, or does one just walk in early?

2024 - Instead of renewing, why not go the full monty? (They actually made it really easy to do this)

I would not miss the appointment, instead reschedule it as soon as you receive the letter.

Since you already received the NOA1, you will most probably receive the appointment letter very soon and before your vacation.

Appointments are at USCIS offices so they are during business hours, don't expect any evening or Saturday appointment. You will have to take time off, there's no way around it. Explain to your boss that you would lose your legal status if you failed to complete the biometrics!

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

 

Passport

06/10/24: application submitted at post office for passport book and card, paid for expedited processing and shipping

06/24/24: received email notification that passport was approved, then shipped with tracking number

06/25/24: passport received

11/19/2011 - NVC recevied case

11/21/2011 - Called NVC for AOS bill and DS-3032

11/21/2011 - Paid AOS Bill

11/21/2011 - EP request and DS-3032 to NVC

11/23/2011 - EP came and DS-3032 accepted

11/23/2011 - Submit I-864

11/28/2011 - Paid IV Bill

11/29/2011 - Submit DS-230

12/05/2011 - Case completed

12/08/2011 - Interview date set

12/11/2011 - Medical exam

01/11/2011 - Document intake day

01/12/2012 - Interview - Approved

03/09/2012 - POE - LAX
