1. I indicated my medical to be on the 3rd of February, I attended the medical on the 24th January.

I have sent an email two weeks ago stating this to be changed. I have not heard back from them. I sent another email last Friday and still nothing.

I tried the operator assisted information number and it returned an invalid message.

The number I tried was 09042 450 100.

I am also wairy that I can no longer use DoS if the embassy post fails to get to me which is a distinct possibility given the track record they have. So i am understandably worried, given i have no contact number for the embassy and they ignore my emails for over two weeks.

2. I indicated my fiances name on the form of readiness. I hope this doesnt mean they are expecting her for definate. It really depends on when the interview date is as to whether she can. I also did not put anything in the expected travel date box as theres no point till i know the interview date. If she can't come along is it necessary for them to know she isnt coming?

I am also worried me not putting a date will affect how fast they process it. I saw on the embassy blog site they send instant confirmation the form has been received. I have received nothing since packet three.

3. I met with an immigration advisor regarding my options given I have a criminal record charges back in early 2009, I wont go into that here. My previous immigration lawyer i was helped by for the B2 visa was a million times more helpful. This recent advisor hasnt got back to me since the meeting and hasnt provided the letter he said he would produce. Kind of worrying given how much it cost. Puts me off using them at all, but my first immigration lawyer my auntie hired for me was alot more interested and involved, so i may resort to him if thats an option given denial.

All the guy told me was i can request a review or there is a waiver but didnt seem to give me any hope i had a shot with one of those, so essentially its either denial and succesful review or approval else im screwed. yey.

Having lost my mum two months ago who i usually talk to when im worried and missing my fiance with no set date to next see her i feel pretty low so im venting to the only people who understand the heartache of the visa process. I wish it didnt have to be so unnecessarily slow and they would apply more resources to it. That being said I appreciate CR1 takes alot longer and I may have years to wait in AP or reviews which I despair at the thought of.

4. The panel physician asked me how much i drunk at uni and im also scared there going to throw that at me.

5. I understand that if i get denied i will also loose my 10 year travel visa to the states which will damage my future opportunities with my SO. not to mention i cant travel during AP and my fiances emplyer is incredibly rubbish at keeping holidays available much past two or three weeks so booking a holiday is a hige risk with them.

Its destroying my sleep stressing myself out like this.

It doesn't matter if they know the medical date was changed or not. So they likely aren't putting a response as a priority. When they get the results delivered to them, then you become interview eligible but it could take 2-3 weeks. They say 6 weeks. I wouldn't even think about hearing before Feb 12.

They do not want to give you progress reports on a daily basis. DOS is apparently tired of the world calling too, so drew the line. The embassy discontinued the Operator assisted information line when the forms, payments, and courier scheduling went online last summer some time.

If your fiancé comes then fine. If she doesn't, they won't mark her absent and punish you.

You have some issues but all you can do is wait and see how it goes. Worrying won't bring an interview faster or give an approved outcome. Why not slow down the brain and let things fall into place? You have done all you can do. A letter from a lawyer does not change the facts. I assume you got details of the charges or a subject access report from ACPO to present. if you got denied, then a lawyer could help prepare an appeal. That can't be submitted before a decision is made.

You are getting way ahead of yourself with the "what ifs" and future travel. Put that aside and drag it out later if needed. Don't overwhelm yourself so much. Think positive thoughts for now. I don't know your details but people with crimes and drinkers have gotten visas so it's not a foregone conclusion you won't get one also.

Hi vvvVein,

I totally understand what a stressful time this is. I remember doing this process with my now husband almost 9 years ago when I was in California and he was here in the UK, and we were trying to move the the UK, and it really does suck.

Now we are looking to move back to the states, and my husband has just had his medical on the 20th January. He too submitted the forms and readiness notification before his medical, but we don't expect to hear for a few more weeks yet, as they won't process anything until they have the medical results. Our CEAC tracker was updated on the 23rd, the day the medical results were sent to the embassy.

I notice on the embassy website today that they are processing Notification of Readiness Forms up until the 28th January. http://london.usembassy.gov/status_check.html

So, if you check your tracker, and your medical results have been received before then, there is a chance you might hear about your appointment soon. As we are expecting interviews roughly around the same time, I can certainly keep you updated if we hear anything.

I know this time really sucks, but once you are through it, it will all be worth it.

I am applying for an IR-1 visa, as I'm already married, so I am not sure if it is the same for a fiance visa. It must reference it in one of the pinned guides. But here is the link to the CEAC page: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

Also, it doesn't actually say they've received the medical, just that there was action on our case that day, and it was 4 days after the medical, so I assume thats what the action was.
