Hello, I filed a I-130 IV petition in favor of my parents back in 2010 at california service centre. Petition was approved by USCIS and NVC the same year and my parents had an interview at the US embassy in Pakistan in January 2011. They were told after administrative process on their petition they will be informed about the final fate of their petition. After a lapse of 1 year they were asked to furnish new medical reports because it expires after a year( normal process). I just noticed today that on USCIS website the status on my father's petition has been changed from post decision activity to initial review whereas my mother's petition status still shows post decision activity. Can anyone please explain what does that mean??

Nothing if they've already had interviews. Not sure why you're bothering to check the USCIS website after the petition approval. Unless their interview was denied it wont go back there. They recieved ap on their visa not on the petition.

No it was not denied. Its been over 2 years now so kind of worried about the final outcome on their IV petition and checked uscis website but just to mention earlier at uscis website his status was also as Post decision activity and now its changed to initial review. made me even more worried so joined this forum to get some info on the topic. Am I getting worried for nothing???

After waiting for over 2 years on a approved IV petition Just now status on my case has been changed to:

Section 203(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and any petition approved on your behalf canceled, if you do not apply for your immigrant visa within one year of being advised to do so.

You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled.

Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition."

Anyone else had this happen before????
