hello everyone

My husband has filed I 130 at California Service Center and my Priority date is 9 Jan 2014. Please help me with my query on visit visa. CAN I APPLY FOR A VISITOR'S VISA WHILE MY PETITION IS FILED??

Yes, you can apply. The odds of receiving one are distinctly lower with a pending immigration petition, however, so ensure you are able to present excellent, very strong ties to your home country.

* I-130/CR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London
3rd May 2013 - Married in London
7th May 2013 - I-130 filed
4th June 2013 - NOA2 (approved)
16th July 2013 - Interview (approved)
30th July 2013 - POE San Francisco
29th August 2013 - 2 year green card arrived

 

* How? Read my DCF London I-130 for CR1/IR1 Spouse Guide

* Removal of Conditions (RoC) via California Service Centre
1st May 2015 - 90 day RoC window opened
6th May 2015 - I-751 filed (delivered 8th May, cheque cashed 18th May)
7th August 2015 - Approved / GC production
27th August 2015 - 10 year green card arrived

* Naturalisation (Citizenship) via Phoenix Lockbox

* San Francisco Field Office:
1st May 2016 - N-400 window opened
20th August 2016 - N-400 filed
26th August 2016 - NOA1
13th September 2016 - Biometrics

12th January 2017 - Biometrics (again)
30th May 2017 - Interview (approved)
7th June 2017 - Oath

my friend cleared the tourist visa interview after she filed I 130 recently. You can also try. But there is no guarantee. You have to be prepared for rejection and loosing your money just in case.

2013-06-28: I-130 Approved

NVC

2013-10-16: DS-260 Submitted Online

2013-10-17: Confirmation page received of DS-260 via email

2013-10-17: AOS Docs sent/IV Docs sent

2013-11-26: Checklist received for AOS

2013-12-06: Response to Checklist sent

2014-01-06: Case complete : By Phone

2014-01-30: Interview Letter by Email

2014-02-04: CEAC status changed to "In Transit"

2014-02-05: CEAC status changed to "Ready"

2014-02-19: Medical at Mumbai

2014-03-03: Biometrics at VAC

2014-03-06: Interview at Mumbai Consulate

2014-03-06: Visa Approved as per CO

2014-03-06: CEAC status changed to "Administrative Processing"

2014-03-06: CEAC status changed to "Issued" on same day :-)

2014-03-07: Passport Ready for pickup from VAC in Mumbai
2014-03-07: Picked up passport with VISA

2014-04-05: POE (POE was supposed to be 2014-04-04, but connecting flight in UK was cancelled and postponed for a day)

2014-04-16: SSN Received

2014-05-07: Green Card Produced

2014-05-08: 10 Year Green Card Received
