Greetings -

I am a permanent resident and my wife's petition was approved by USCIS in Dec 2013 and we are waiting for update from NVC. We were happy to wait along and respect the processing time.

However...

My wife has been working round the clock to get into Stanford or MIT and last week she was accepted at MIT. Knowing this I reached out to NVC and woman gave me instructions to send email to expedite request. I have done so, but not sure how long it takes and what comes out of it.

So my questions are...

- Does anyone know how long expedite request takes for response and has anyone had any luck, ever?

- Given my wife's immigrant visa is in process and if she does not get this on time, can we apply for student visa - will it risk either student visa (non-immigrant basis) and or immigrant visa process?

- What other options anyone recommends?

I will be grateful if you could please share your thoughts.

Thanks,

MKalya
