In which case I would argue one cannot produce an opinion as a fact. God can you imagine how this would be sold if this was a strong republican president going around an obstinate democrat controlled congress? These same fear mongers would be calling him the hero of the modern age. And Libs would be calling him Hitler. People care more about what is getting enacted more than how. I personally think the house of reps is a f'ing joke, and not because its Republican controlled. Districts in certain areas are so biased that their rep is so locked in to their seat, they don't have to give two sh!ts about reelection. Now they can pursue whatever interest they wish, without having to answer at the ballot.

It is a speech and nothing more. He is simply warning us what he is going to do nothing about. Since he has not done anything else he said he would, I take these speeches as a "head's up" for what he is going to ignore this year. Good thing there really isn't any global warming since he is definitely not doing s%t about it.

That is one of the things that has warmed my heart so these last five years. Watching Obama contradict everything he promised or stood for, everything from his objecting to Bush's deficit to the prisoners in gitmo to "back-room deals and his high minded commitment to "openness in Govt."

Never the less, he still has a core of followers and defenders. It wasn't that long ago Bush lost every supporter he had on his way out of office, it would seem Obama has him beat in that regard.
